  1. Hi there I am looking for a recommendation for a night nanny. My ten week old has really bad colic and doesn?t sleep for more than 1.5 hours at a time. With 2 other children I am really struggling to cope and need some respite for a couple of nights since i am exclusively breastfeeding and my husband whilst brilliant is also working very long hours and looking after everything else. I am a bit nervous about having someone come in and help but I am desperate - sleep is essential if I am going to be able to function. I?d be really grateful for any personal recommendation anyone might have locally. Thanks
  2. I am having some curtains made for me by a friend but she lives in Brighton so I am looking for someone/ a recommendation for a business that would be able to measure up and once made fit them for me? They are for a bay window so I do need someone who has experience because the measuring can be tricky. Any recommendations / advice gratefully received - I'm looking urgently, trying to get it done before my baby is born in a couple of months and the manufacture has a 6/7 week lead time! Thanks in advance
  3. I am looking for someone to measure up for and then (I have a friend who will make them for me) fit some bay window curtains. They are going to be double pinch pleat, interlined and blackout lined so I need someone who has experience of measuring up curtains in order that they hang right. If anyone can help or recommend someone to me I'd be really grateful - I'm trying to get the whole process done asap in order for the birth of my baby in a couple of months! Thanks Claire
  4. I would like to add another recommendation for Richard and Andy. Richard has done a number of jobs for me over the past few months; building and painting shelves, grouting, putting in a new bath panel and also hanging and painting a new front gate. He was very personable and diligent and also very happy to give me advice on how to deal with other things that need doing around the house that he wasn't going to do himself. I have been very pleased with both the service and cost of all these jobs and he has even come back weeks after the job was completed to ensure that any snags were dealt with. They are busy but Richard has often fitted in smaller jobs in the evenings or weekends to ensure the jobs get completed I would definitely say it's worth waiting to ensure you get someone you can rely on and who won't overcharge you - I would happily have him back when we have other things to do. 5. I would like to recommend Michael to anyone looking for a good, personable plumber. Michael (Mick) serviced my boiler quickly and efficiently and more cheaply than I had expected - and was on hand to provide advice about gas safety certificates and will happily come out at the crack of dawn for a plumbing emergency! Really a very nice guy, very down to earth - I would wholly recommend him to anyone. Michael - MLC Plumbing Heating and Building 07960 691 495
  6. Hi there I wanted to add a recommendation to this forum for a fantastic painter/ decorator business in the ED area, Advanced Painters. Brian who owns the business is a really approachable and helpful guy who I really believe will give honest and sound advice and deliver an excellent service. He and his team recently completed two jobs for us - kitchen and then subsequently an update/ refresh of our hall and bedrooms and both were completed on time for a very reasonable price and the house was left immaculate afterwards. I was particularly impressed with the first job because my son has asthma and Brian took every care to minimise dust and debris in order to ensure we didn't have to move out which we have done in the past. I would definitely use them again. Contact details are Brian 07412 623 400 or [email protected]
