  1. Cheers Foxy. Charabanc is a fine word. The market certainly left a right old mess in those days...
  2. Walking down Oxenford Road at corner of Coplestone Road on Monday, I saw a pile of house clearance rubbish, furniture etc. A negative envelope caught my eye and when I looked closer there were perhaps a couple of dozen old negatives in a very sorry state - corroded, damp, and stuck together. I managed to clean some of them up and scanned them in and I've posted them on flickr at https://flic.kr/s/aHski33sjD Some interesting shots of East Street, SE17, Brighton, and some sort of coach trip holiday which looked like a lot of fun. Anyone who has any ideas of who they may have belonged to, where the pictures are of, or any extra info, let me know...
  3. Certainly would be a shame if it can't be reopened as a pub. Always got a good turnout for local events, footie, and comedy nights. Just never had the regulars - and I suspect a pub that doesn't do food can't make money these days. It'd be great to open it as community pub but without the architectural attractions of the Ivy House I don't know if it could get enough attention/momentum to happen. Glad to be proved wrong...I miss it
  4. Glad to hear it - I think it should only be an issue if you have a weak or obstructed signal like me. Probably lots of places on the north side of denmark hill that have similar line of sight to me...
  5. as above - box reports signal strength as 10% lower than before. No channels will tune. Previously had very occasional blocking and breakup of picture due to trees moving in the wind or helicopters(!) but no other issues.
  6. Spoken to at800 - they are sending a filter in the post. Will update if this solves the problem. Surprised I'm the only one, but maybe people with borderline reception have already moved to cable/satellite. Thanks for the contributions. If nothing else it's made me realise how much telly i watch...
  7. hmm - i thought they hadn't launched that properly yet. I'll check it out though. No one else suffering?
  8. Just wondering if anyone else if having the same issue - reception was clear as a bell and working well yesterday until around midnight. When I tried the tv this morning, signal strength was 10% lower and no channels would tune. I am in a rubbish reception site despite being on top of a hill, because there is a block of flats and some trees directly in line of sight to Crystal Palace, but I have had reliable tuning for months until today. Aerial is confirmed ok and has not been moved. All connections tested and confirmed working. Cheers
