(Not a) Stabbing on Lordship Lane today (29th Sept)
longman replied to maritap's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I can reassure you all that this wasn't a stabbing. It was an elderly lady who fell over with her shopping. The ambulance still took her away to get checked out but it didn't look like anything worse than a bit of a bump and some spilt milk. Hope that helps. -
I think this is a great idea and it would be an amazing addition to what is already a great place to live. A really exciting idea, go for it.

I agree here. I love the spirit of what's being proposed, but I think what everyone wants is proper cinema. It doesn't have to be the iMax, a small one would be great. But a proper one all the same.

Northcross Market to open on Sundays?
longman replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I couldn't agree more with this. After moving to this area, the market has become one of the brilliant focal parts of the community. I think shutting the road and making it pedestrianised would be good as well. I also think that if it's extended, a farmers market style is good, but it doesn't make sense to restrict it to just food. I love all the independent furniture and clothes stalls. Let's keep the variety. -
I have to say that I'd be massively in favour of a Waitrose or M&S food. Whilst I also love the range of independent stores we have in the area, I've found the Co-Op has been consistently dreadful since it opened. With poor stock levels and very limited range of fresh produce, it's difficult to see what it's contributing to the area that Somerfield wasn't. And as someone who doesn't own a car and lives nearer to Lordship lane, Sainsbury's isn't as convenient as maybe people think it is. A medium sized, well stocked supermarket nearer this part of the area would be a massive improvement in my eyes.
