  1. The one on the number posted by Rosetta is a cowboy fraud. Use at your peril.
  2. Looks like the cowboys are back. Use at your peril.
  3. Rick or Daniel Ebrahimy (his actual name) is a cowboy rip-off merchant. He, his cowboy sidekick Dean and his cowboy company Rye Plumbing & Heating Ltd have been reported to Southwark Trading Standards and the Gas Safety Register for claiming to be gas safety registered when neither of them are.
  4. I have heard back from the Gas Safe Register and they have no record of Daniel Ebrahimy or Rye Plumbing & Heating Ltd. Having the Gas Safety Register logo on their website without authorisation is not permitted. They are investigating this further. I would urge that you get in touch with the Gas Safety Register if he or Dean have done any work on your gas boilers.
  5. Apparently so. From my experience with him in December, he turned up with Dean, as he has also done for a number of people on the EDF since 12th August, 2015. It is possible to be associated with or work for a company without being a director.
  6. For those of you have been ripped off by Rick, his real name is Daniel Ebrahimy and he is listed as a former director of Rye Plumbing & Heating Ltd. The details below are the information from the Companies House website on Rye Plumbing & Heating Ltd: RYE PLUMBING AND HEATING LTD Company number 09723024 RYE PLUMBING AND HEATING LTD (09723024) Registered office address: 73 Knighton Park Road, Sydenham, London, England, SE26 5RN Current Directors: FRANCIS, Dean James Cameron Correspondence address: 73 Knighton Park Road, Sydenham, London, England, SE26 5RN Former Directors: EBRAHIMY, Daniel Correspondence address: 73 Knighton Park Road, Sydenham, England, United Kingdom, SE26 5RN Appointed on: 8 August 2015; Resigned on: 12 August 2015

  8. An update on Rick the Plumber: I have done some digging and he operates through Rye Plumbing & Heating Ltd, which is registered at Companies House. His sidekick Dean is listed as director (nothing for Rick). The company website (https://sites.google.com/site/dplumbingandheating/)also has the Gas Safety Register logo on it, but the Gas Safe Register website has no record of this business. I have notified Southwark Council Trading Standards (copying in James Barber). I have also notified the Gas Safety Register.

  10. Having been ripped off by this cowboy, I am more than happy to report him to Trading Standards. Does anyone have a surname or an address for him. Not only is he ripping off people, he also taking work away from hard working reputable local plumbers.

  12. A recommendation for Rick Plumb 247. I used Rick to fix a problem that I had with a washing machine installation. Rick was punctual, repaired the fault and his rates were very reasonable. His number is 07860 633220 and his website is http://rickplumb247.com.
  13. Avoid Rick the plumber, whose number is 07721060037. He is a cowboy pretending to be a plumber. He does not fix things properly, is late when he bothers to turn up and then promises to refund you, which of course never materialises. There are a few users on here who have had the misfortune to have been ripped off by him recently.
  14. My promised refund hasn't materialised either - not that I'm surprised that a cowboy, rip-off merchant didn't keep to his word.
  15. He has offered me refund, but given that he has habitually lied to me, I will be astounded if I actually get my money back. Rick is a cowboy pretending to be a plumber. All those who have been ripped off by him should post their experiences on the Forum so that others do not suffer the same.
  16. To Rickplumb 247 and EDF, my comments have nothing to do with you as the Rick that I have had the misfortune to deal with has definitely not been in the trade for 40 years. I apologise for any confusion that may have been caused. The Rick that I have dealt with is a a mixed race guy in his late twenties/early thirties who's number (as posted on EDF) is 07721060037 who is plainly a cowboy.

  18. Strange that Rick's recommendations are either glowing or anything but. Also strange that so many of Rick's recommendations, as Rosetta points out above, are from people who have only ever posted about him. Be wise... I can only reiterate that he was an unprofessional cowboy with me.
  19. If being 'Rickety-tricked' means that I have been ripped off by a cowboy then yes I have.
  20. An avoid at all costs for Rick the plumber from me unless you want to pay him for not fixing problem properly and then have persistent false promises of rearranging to come back and fix the problem. Rick came to my flat to fix a leaking bathroom sink pipe before Christmas. He replaced the washers in the hot and cold pipes and charged me ?100 for doing so. My tenant returned to the flat after Christmas and informed me that the pipe was leaking again. I contacted Rick to explain that the pipe was leaking last Saturday. He suggested that replacing the flex pipes under the sink would address the leak and that he would only charge me ?40 to fix the problem as he had already tried to fix it. He failed to contact my tenant on the Sunday to arrange to go to the flat. I then contacted Rick to ask him again to contact my tenant on Monday. He arranged to go to the flat on Tuesday night, but cancelled and rearranged for Thursday night. He then cancelled again on Thursday night. Rather perplexed, I contacted Rick to explain that I wasn't very impressed with him. He was apologetic and we agreed that he would go to the flat between 10 and 11 on Saturday morning. He also said that he had bought the parts and would not charge me for fitting them. He failed to turn up again and gave the pretty feeble excuse of thinking that we had agreed to him going to the flat on Saturday night. He then spoke with my tenant and said that he would go to the flat on Saturday afternoon or that if he couldn't make it he would call to arrange a time for Sunday. Just as before, he failed to do both. He failed to fix the problem is unreliable and a waste of money. From my experience, avoid at all costs.

  22. Another recommendation foe Steve the Spin Doctor from me. Very quick and reasonable.
  23. Saving ?6k over two months - you really must be on the breadline.
