The victims, a mother (early 50?s) and daughter (early 30?s), were assaulted at their home address by a man known to them. It is being treated as a domestic incident. ? They have both sustained serious head injuries and one of the victims remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition. ? AS ? Central South Briefing note Detectives investigating the rape of a woman in Southwark are appealing for witnesses. ? Shortly after 00.45hrs on Friday, 14 January, police received a report of a rape of an 18-year-old woman by two men near Peckham Rye Railway Station. ? It was reported that was walking down an alleyway off Elm Grove shortly after 22.20hrs on Thursday, 13 January, when she was approached from behind by two males who took her to Holly Grove where they raped her. ? The two males are described as wearing dark clothing. They were both wearing gloves and face coverings. ? The 18-year-old woman is being supported by specialist officers ? A crime scene has been put in place, including part of Peckham Rye Railway Station. ? There have been no arrests. ? Detective Superintendent Clair Kelland said: "There is a fast-paced investigation ongoing into this incident and a large crime scene has been put in place. "We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area of Peckham Rye Station between 10 and 11pm last night who saw anything that may assist our investigation." ? AS ? Central South Briefing note A fully automatic submachine gun has been seized by detectives following an intelligence led operation. ? Detectives from the Specialist Crime Command, with assistance by armed officers, stopped two cars driving in convoy in Crossthwaite Avenue, SE5, on Monday, 15 November. ? Officers searched the vehicles and found a PM63 RAK machine pistol, capable of fully automatic fire, hidden with a speaker in the rear seat of one of the cars. ? The firearm was made safe and has been sent off for testing. ? The drivers of the vehicles, a man aged 31 [A] and a man aged 53?, were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent. ? They have been taken to a south London police station where they remain in custody. ? Detective Chief Inspector Victoria Sullivan, from Specialist Crime, said: ?Excellent investigation work by officers has led to an extremely dangerous weapon, which has been designed to cause serious harm or death, being taken off the streets of London. ? ?We remain dedicated to making London a safer place for everyone by carrying out operations such as this one. Central South Briefing note 24 August 2021 On Tuesday 24th August 2021 in the early hours, the London Fire Brigade attended West Lane, SE16 to reports of the Bermondsey and Rotherhithe War Memorial on fire. They have advised Police that a wreath was deliberately set alight, causing damage to this 100 year old Grade II listed war memorial. ?We remain open minded as to the reasons behind this crime. ?There is nothing at this stage to indicate any element of racial or cultural motivation. An investigation is under way and enquiries are ongoing. AS ? Central South Briefing note ? Fatal collision se22 ? Officers were called at approximately 21:15hrs on Monday, 20 July to East Dulwich Grove, SE22 following reports of a collision. ? A moped, travelling towards Thorncombe Road, collided with a tree. The rider, a man in his 20s, died at the scene. His family have been informed. ? It is yet to be confirmed if any other vehicles were involved. ? Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are investigating. They are particularly keen to hear from any drivers who were in East Dulwich Grove from 2100 hours onwards and who may have recorded the events leading up to the collision on dashcam.   18. AS ? Central South BRIEFING NOTE On Monday 28th June 2021 at approximately 1.45pm Police, the London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service were called to a fire on Elephant Road, SE17. There are significant road closures are in place and the public are advised to avoid the area. Elephant & Castle Rail, the Underground Station, and residential premises have been evacuated. Local Police are assisting the Local Authority and residents at a dedicated reception centre. At this early stage the incident is not believed to be linked to terrorism. Currently there are two known casualties suffering from smoke inhalation, one being a police officer. London Fire Brigade will be on scene into the evening. Central South BRIEFING NOTE On Wednesday the 23rd of June 2021 at 1420hours Police received multiple calls about a group of four males armed with knives committing a robbery on Rye Lane SE15. At around 1830hours Police then received multiple calls about two males armed with knives on Queens Road, near the border of Lewisham and Southwark. They were of a similar description to the Rye Lane calls. A large zombie knife was recovered from the Somerville Estate in Lewisham. As a result of these incidents a Section 60 Stop & Search authority was implemented by Inspector Frisby, lasting from 1900hrs on 23rd June to 0700hrs on 24th June, in order to prevent any further incidents of potential violence. The map below sets out the borders of the authorisation which was within the boundary of New Cross Road, Old Kent Road, Albany Road, Wells Way, Southampton Way, Peckham Road, Lyndhurst Way, Holly Grove, Rye Lane, Peckham Rye, East Dulwich Road, Nunhead Lane, Evelina Road, Gellatly Road, Aburthnot Road, Jerningham Road back to New Cross Road. There will be an increased police presence in the area over the coming days. AS - Central South Briefing note Over the forthcoming weekend (12th/13th June) there will be an increased presence of police officers across Lambeth and Southwark Boroughs taking part in a range of operations and reassurance patrols. ? There is a significant uplift in officer numbers for the start of EURO 2021, with the opening fixture and the first England game on Sunday. A dedicated resourcing plan will run for the duration of the tournament. The extra resourcing will support our local licensing plan in line with the lifting of the lockdown restrictions. Our licensing officers (supported by our council partners) will be visiting venues, pubs, bars, hotels and businesses to offer staff and managers advise on how to create safe environments and ensure everyone has a safe experience. ? This weekend will also see reassurance patrols in Stockwell and Streatham following two tragic incidents this week - the fatal collision involving a police vehicle on Stockwell Road and a fatal stabbing on Prentis Road. The aim of these patrols is to engage with and listen to the concerns of the community. Local officers from our dedicated ward teams local will be talking to members of the public and providing a visible and reassuring presence. This plan will be in place for at least the next seven days, the feedback from our community will be integral to informing this reassurance plan going forward. ? The victim had a laceration to his head and cut to his left ear, medical treatment was required and the victim taken to Royal London Hospital, this was deemed not life threatening of life changing. ? On Saturday 01st May 2021, officers were patrolling More London near City Hall, POTTERS FIELDS, on Op Kaiser due to the recent disorder/ASB. ? A victim had been assaulted and several suspects were seen nearby and detained by Police. ? During the incident one officer was knocked unconscious. Medical treatment was required for both the police officer and a member of the public. ? Several other officers received minor injuries. ? Four people were arrested on scene for offences of GBH, Racially Aggravated Public Order and Assault emergency workers. ? A Section 35 dispersal remains in place until 0700hrs on the 4th May 2021.
