  1. Purse/wallet (light blue/grey) as I was in Peckham this morning. Had it in the phone shop just down from Vodafone. Walked back to Aylesham Centre after that. 11-12 today. Please DM me if found. Thanks
  2. We have a regular visitor to our back garden who is a b/w cat with distinctive markings like a moustache. For a while we nicknamed him after the German instigator of world war II esp as he seemed to boss all the neighbouring cats. Now we know his name and we call him ''D'' for short. Twice though I have filmed him having a long ''conversation'' with another cat. The first time was last year and the second was just a couple of months ago when he crossed paths in my neighbour's garden with a new bengal-looking cat. It was amazing to watch; he sat proprietorily while it appeared, the other cat was explaining his presence in ''D's'' area.''D'' gave some replies and then after 5-7 minutes the other cat rolled onto his side and back in what appeared to be a submissive gesture before skulking away while scrutinised by ''D''. To my knowledge that cat has not appeared again in ''D's'' territory again. It was early morning so their voices did seem very loud.
  3. Lovely people at Neighbourhood Vet kindly took him in and then phoned me later to say he was not micro-chipped so possibly a cat that had been living as a stray for some time. He was about 5 years old and may have just dropped dead from heart attack type thing. We had seen this cat crossing our garden and investigating the compost bin, sometimes snoozing on the shed for several months. Normally very timid, for the last ten days he'd suddenly become quite friendly, accepting pats and bits of cat food or chicken. He'd appear at the window every morning and evening. The day before he died he was really quite clingy, nosing the water can so we gave him water, trying to get in to the house and flopping down to sleep on our back step etc - leading some members of the family to believe that maybe he felt unwell or knew that his end was nigh. Poor fellow!
  4. Opposite the entrance to One Tree Hill Allotment Society, a dead black and white cat. Left leg black with white paw, the other three legs are white and underbelly also. Taking him to a vet at 8.00 to see if he has been chipped so the owner can be informed. Doesn't appear that he was hit by a car or anything. Sorry if he is yours.
  5. Hi Can anyone advise with this please: a very elderly friend lost all of her vintage jewellery in a burglary which was obviously devastating. The other day she showed me these two bits of an ornate belt she had. It had broken and these two pieces were separate. What she wants to do is to make them into brooches and asked if I could assist. I took them to a jeweller and he said the ''metal'' is some sort of composite thing which would not lend itself to a pin being soldered on the back and that I should try super glue. This didn't work. I wonder if anything can be done or should I return the pieces to her as undo-able? The ''metal'' is very flexible - the two link chains just bent off. Thanks in advance for any tips on what could be done or who could be approached and how much it would cost.
