  1. A swan has been visiting Dulwich Park recently. It may be one of the siblings from Crystal Palace Park. It's lovely to see it but it looks very lonely without a mate.
  2. Lordship Lane is open again....hopefully the buses will be running on their normal routes by tomorrow
  3. The contractors reckon the Townley/Heber junction will re-open tomorrow as single lane with temporary lights. Having watched several huge Morrison/M&S trucks having to reverse back up the road or turn round as they missed/ignored the road closed signs, it can't come soon enough.
  4. The foreman says a length of pipe that looks like a post-war repair ruptured above where they are working.
  5. Lordship Lane is closed again this morning so buses back on diversion.
  6. Ambra's Kitchen is very good and local too! https://ambraskitchen.com/pages/catering
  7. Lordship Lane is open again although it's single lane through the temporary lights at Heber/Townley so the bus stops are still closed
  8. Lordship Lane is still closed but I've noticed more large vehicles (including a couple of buses) coming down LL having to do 3 point turns as they can't turn into Heber Road. Aside from the night working, it's been much quieter without the lorries and boy racers.
  9. They were working through Friday night and are on site today so hopefully the road will be open again soon. I watched a 185 full of passengers do a 3 point turn at the roadworks as the driver clearly didn't get the message about the road closure!
  10. Lordship Lane is now completely closed to through traffic where the roadworks are so all traffic is going via Heber Road or Townley Road.
  11. Thames Water were out there today but don't think they carried out any work. It started leaking before Xmas.
  12. It has very little to do with independent coffee shops 'upping their game' to compete. A lot of independent coffee shops buy their coffee from roasters who support small, independent growers who use sustainable farming methods. That's why their coffee will cost more.
  13. The Egyptian goose family are still in the pond, minus the adult male.
  14. A pair of Greylag geese with 5 or 6 goslings were by the lake this morning in ED Park.
  15. That's great to hear. I know that Egyptian geese are considered an invasive species but didn't realise it was illegal to rescue them! Does the same go for Canada geese?
