  1. Have had Dia decorating at our new house for a few weeks and he has done an absolutely incredible job. The walls and ceilings were in a terrible state when we moved in and they now look absolutely immaculate. I highly recommend Dia - he's really hard working, reliable and honest and he works to an incredibly high standard. Lovely guy too. I know he has some availability at the moment. 2. You could try Dia - he's back in the country after a long trip abroad and I know he has some availability - 07468 439891. [email protected] Really brilliant decorator and very reliable.
  3. I took a chance on Solomon after seeing his post on EDF. He was absolutely brilliant in dealing with our son's elbow problem - he gave us a huge amount of time and attention and the exercises he provided have made a real difference. He was attentive and available throughout the process post consultation and clearly has a huge amount of knowledge and experience. He was also incredibly good value. By far the best physio we've ever used. I can't recommend him highly enough.
  4. I can tell you that although we are not in the same part of Dulwich as you we are just a hair over 1km away from Charter East Dulwich. We didn't get a place and we are mid forties on the waiting list, so I doubt we will. It looks like the furthest offered distance is shrinking year on year as more siblings take up places.
  5. Went today with my two kids who absolutely loved it and had to be torn away after many hours of play. I thought it was fantastically designed and a brilliant addition to the park. I personally think the climb up to the slides is refreshingly risky - much more fun than a ladder. Southwark seem to be doing an amazing job maintaining provision for local children in this age of austerity and I'm grateful to whoever managed to push the new playground through. Great job!
  6. I recently used Michael to paint the front of our house, sash windows, railings etc. He did a fantastic job. He gets on with it, his standard of finish is excellent, he's tidy, reliable and has real integrity. He was also a pleasure to have around; he's courteous, thoughtful and the kids loved him. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him - he's one of the good ones.
  7. Just had two doors supplied and fitted by Derrick at Distinguish Doors. I almost didn't go with them after reading bad reviews on here so I thought I would add a corrective. Derrick was consistently courteous and considerate in dealings with him. Turned up on time, hung the doors perfectly, tidied up afterwards and kindly took the old door away for me. Second time we've used them and no problems whatsoever.
  8. Hi, Do you mind telling me who you used in the end? Thanks
  9. Sorry - wrong section! I'll repost in Classifieds - sorry about that.
  10. Hi, Would anyone like an Amby baby hammock for ?30? It is an absolutely life saver if you have colicy babies or kids that don't sleep well. It completely saved our sanity in the first year of our two kids lives. Helps them sleep for longer and more soundly and it is suprisingly easy to transition out of when you want to move to a cot. You can read more about it here: http://amby.co.uk/ The amby is well used but clean and works perfectly. They retail for around ?200 new. You can't really put a price on sleep though! PM me if you want it. Pick up from SE15 or I can deliver if convenient. Thanks.
  11. Great - thanks Chuff, that's encouraging. Yes please do let me know if the males turn up in your garden. Thanks for the advice El Pibe and KK - I'll check both those areas. And yes, that scorpion is a Londoner - there's a couple of established populations of european yellow tail scorpions in the city...
  12. Hi, I'm a local wildlife photographer and I've been working on a personal project about London's wildlife for the past decade. I'm now very keen to get a shot of a male stag beetle - it will be part of this series: http://www.simondeglanville.co.uk/parklife.html I was wondering of the good people of dulwich and peckham might be able to help me? This is the time of year you will find stag beetles in your garden and if anybody was willing to catch one for me I'd be extremely grateful. If are willing to help and you find one in your garden could you put it in a largish tupperware box with a few leaves and give me a call? My number is 07734 052712. I'd ideally want two males (the ones with antlers), but I could work with one. I'd like to offer a print of the resulting image, or a print of any of my other work if you'd prefer, to anyone who can help me in my search. I will, of course, return the beetles to appropriate habitat (or your garden if you'd prefer) after I've finished the shoot. It should only take an hour or two. Many thanks, Simon
  13. Can you just accept online now (it says to wait for the letter)?
  14. Thanks for the reassuring message. It's great that you and Renata engage with this forum so much - it's really useful and appreciated.
  15. South London Clutch on Bellenden Road is fantastic, friendly and completely reliable.
