The Grand Union or Union Grand (whatever!) in Camberwell Grove might be worth checking out - went to a good party there last year...

Pop up to Rolls 'n Rems in Lewisham - they stock quilted fabric, it's normally upstairs.

Diagnosis of strabismus (crossed-eye) in children under 2 yo?
jmac replied to Saffron's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I would not take my GP's word on something like this - take your daughter to a good optician and have her checked. They are the experts on the eye and I don't believe GP's have adequate training. My brother is an ophthalmologist and whenever I have gone with any of my three, he always tells me that the earlier squints are 'caught', the easier they are to fix... -
If you are still struggling I don't mind coming round to show you how it should be done - I've bound more quilts than I car to mention and am happy to help.

21st birthday present for Godaughter - Help!!
jmac replied to sillywoman's topic in The Family Room Discussion
What about volunteering to be the photographer for the night and then presenting her with a collage of some kind or book of images from the celebrations? I'm sure you could find something along these lines on the internet... Personally I always just gave them ?210 in pristine notes presented in a naff '21st' mug which always went down a treat! -
Hello Fuschia, this brings back memories... My second child went from breech to transverse to unstable lie, he just wouldn't stop and at one point I had scans every other day at King's. They tried to keep me in hospital but I managed to persuade them that I was sensible and as I lived close-by I would enter the hospital the minute I had concerns, so I escaped that hassle (had an 18-month at the time). Finally the cord did prolapse and I was obviously taken in to have a c-section, which like you, I dreaded. The night-time experience post-op was not great (this was 10 years ago and in the old maternity dept at King's!) so do know what? I signed myself out against Doc's orders at 6am next morning and went home to my lovely, clean, comfy bed! Brilliant! I lived near the hospital and decided to take things into my own hands and I was much happier and relaxed and things went great post-op. Hope it goes well for you...

Hi, I live in Forest Hill, Wood Vale and had my bike stolen this week from my shed which is in the back garden. They broke open the door and took my red/black Specialized Allez mens racing bike. Fortunately they left the kids bikes behind. I did tell the Police but as its 5 years old I don't have the documents anymore, so I suspect I'll never get it back, even if I see it I can't prove its mine. The www.immobilise.com site mentioned above was recommended by the Police and looks worthwhile.
