Converting old photos to digital
Suzanne Cummings replied to MoysieC's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thanks. I scanned them at work (600 DPI) but the quality doesn't seem very good. And they turn into pdf's. I really want them as jpegs (I think!). I wonder if I just take photos of them with my iphone? -
Anyone else having a nightmare in the mornings
Suzanne Cummings replied to susyp's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I recommend the book Calmer, Easier, Happier Parenting. It really works. -
I'd recommend Oak Tree nursery on Tell Grove. My 2.5 year old daughter goes there 2 mornings a week currently & my elder daughter has just finished there as she's just started school. It's scruffy but small & caring. Maria the manager is great.

DVIS - new starters meet up?
Suzanne Cummings replied to Suzanne Cummings's topic in The Family Room Discussion
The weather's looking like it should be fine for tomorrow so the plan is still to meet outside Dulwich Park cafe at 10.30. Please PM me if you can't make it, just so I'm not standing there like a lemon! Looking forward to meeting you all. -
I would second Greenz in Tulse Hill (right next to station). Really yummy vegan food.

DVIS - new starters meet up?
Suzanne Cummings replied to Suzanne Cummings's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Great. Subject to the weather, how about 10.30am in Dulwich Park on Sunday 8th? We could meet on the grass in front of the cafe? I am blonde and will wear pink jeans to make sure I'm easily recognisable! -
DVIS - new starters meet up?

I think lots of people are away/ busy this weekend, and sbarry is away the following weekend, so shall we try for Friday 6 September or Sunday 8 September? We could meet in Dulwich Park if the weather is nice? -
Hi My daughter starts in Lowry class in September and I was just wondering if there are any other parents with children starting at DVIS that fancy a meet up before the term starts? I look forward to hearing from you. Suzi

You could try Oak Tree on Tell Grove (off Melbourne Grove). It's a lovely nursery & still has spaces.

Cherry Tree Montessori Nursery...
Suzanne Cummings replied to igloo10's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I would steer clear if I were you. I got a very bad feeling about it when I looked around which was subsequently backed up by others' bad experiences. On the other hand, my daughter goes to Oak Tree which is lovely. -
You can buy Optrex drops for 2+ year olds over the counter. I just did so at Lloyds pharmacy on North Cross Road.

I want to make a plug for my 3 1/2 year old daughter's nursery, Oak Tree Nursery. It is based in a couple of rooms at the United Reformed Church on Tell Grove (off Melbourne Grove and East Dulwich Grove). It's a bit scruffy but the manager Maria is fantastic and the other women who work there are all great - really warm and in their 30s or 40s so really sensible. They also offer half days (from 8 to 1pm or 1pm to 6pm) with a minimum of 2 half days a week, as well as full days and now (since September) they take babies too. The costs are ?25 for a half day and ?40 for a full day. I started my daughter there when I had my second daughter to give me some help whilst I was on maternity leave. The reason I chose it was because it does half days and becuase some of the Mums with children there had posted on the forum recommending it. So I figured, I should do the same in case it helps anyone else out - if there any Mums are looking for a great nursery, I would definitely recommend it. I plan on sending my second daughter there when she turns 2.
