Signed up for Founder Member and card arrived next day, but nothing to say it is Founder Member or expiry date 12 months after ED cinema opens. Can I assume this information is gathered in the background?

Recommendation for Tony Pooley landscaping
undergran replied to firstlifefilms's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Yes, we agree with what has been said previously - a large part of our garden has been completely cleared, re-fenced, paved, and decked and re-designed with rendered raised beds and water feature and lights. It was definitely worth waiting for Tony and his team to come and do it and unlike others who we discussed this with he actually listened to what we wanted rather than putting forward ideas that didn't take into account our preferences! -
Has anyone had any dealings with this Association? I'd be interested to know as I have had a very frustrating time over two years (or more) trying to get them to replace a fence between my property and one they own. In order to save our garden we have now paid for it ourselves and think it very unlikely we will receive even part payment from them despite their acknowledged responsibility. Just wondering if we have been unlucky or whether there is a general level of disengagement and inefficiency within the organisation.

I think it's the number apart from other considerations - there are currently 13 cars in the ED area and another 15 just the other side of Peckham Rye park in Nunhead... are there really that many people who want to use them?
-
Yes! We had two parked right outside our house where parking can be difficult anyway. I spoke to the operative checking them and whilst informing me that there will be 600 of them across London (!) he did move one round the corner. The other one stayed for 11 days without moving. Zipcars have clear parking spaces agreed by the Council, these ones have GPS and the idea is you check where your nearest one is, take it where you want to go and then just leave it legally parked. I am not against car clubs in general, but this company seems to be putting a lot of cars into a small area without consideration of residents

former East Dulwich councillor - how can I help?
undergran replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
On a completely different topic, do you have any information about the latest car "club"/business which has recently arrived. car2go has parked several Smart cars around East Dulwich - it would seem in places where parking is at a premium already. Unlike Zipcars who use designated places these can be re-parked anywhere, though at present they don't actually appear to be moving at all except when the operatives call once a week when they may be moved from one side of a street to another. Are they paying the Council for carrying on a business in the streets - I thought there were rules about this. -

best route by car from guildford to ED
undergran replied to pilsbury's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Like others we turn off at Shannons Corner and continue towards Wimbledon on A238 passing South Wimbledon station and then left into Haydens Road. Continue of Haydens as it turns into Durnsford Road, then turn right into Penwith Road at the Pig and Whistle pub. Continue straight ahead into Earlsfield Road, and again into Spencer Park. This then meets up with the South Circular close to Clapham which is usually not too bad though we are generally travelling at weekends. -

Forest Hill Rd Surgery Appointments
undergran replied to prdarling's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
It is all very random in my experience. Recently I received a letter asking me to phone as follow-up to blood tests. I did and was given an appointment for a telephone call with a doctor two days later. The doctor then asked "How can I help you?" so clearly had not looked at my records before phoning. Net result - make an appointment to come in. So two more calls on their premium number. I have also been told that Sainsbury's Pharmacy won't deal with them for repeat prescriptions due to difficulties with non-medical staff, but don't know whether this is true. -
Two sorts of volunteering opportunities were available for the Olympics, the first being for those who will generally support as volunteers working at events, seating people, escorting athletes for drug testing, doing IT work, etc. The second group were for Performance Volunteers - musicians, actors, dancers and others wanting to take part in the opening/closing ceremonies and other events. It looks to me like these document relate to the latter ie payment was never in questions as the individuals or groups VOLUNTEERED to do something.

Cash safely back with HSBC and on its way to the absent-minded/overstressed rightful owner!
-
If you - or someone you know - left cash in an ATM this morning in Lordship Lane, the cash and the withdrawal slip will be returned to the bank where it was withdrawn on Monday morning. The bank will be able to identify the customer and the cash can be returned to the account. I hope no one has had a spoiled weekend because of this.

Our Zafira broken into twice in a week - last Thursday/Friday overnight, and again during last night. Rear quarterlight both times, but different sides. Thinking of buying shares in Autoglass! Underhill/Melford area.
