  1. Hi guys, sorry for delay - came back to much more work and problems than I anticipated but anyway!!! Thanks to everyone for their help, ideas and suggestions... I have a few questions.... toddler proofing, good idea, we can get a stair gate one way so they cant get behind bar or towards kitchen.... the main entrance can be curtained across but is a bit to big to gate. Hopefully with the curtains it'll keep them contained! As to soft play - every week is a possibility, how would people feel about a small weekly charge? If not we can def do it once a month. I am in contact with a lovely, local person who is setting up her own soft hire business. So will be able to keep it in Dulwich. Start date..... middle of Oct provisional dates are 18th / 25th Oct. Thank you all, Gavin
  2. Hi all, Id love to do the soft play more often - its going to be expensive to hire which is the big issue. We can't buy it as storage becomes a problem as does the H & S side of keeping it hygeinacally clean and well maintained. I'll keep my thinking cap on for a solution. As to ages - I thought we'd try and welcome all, maybe have time slots on the soft play days. Not for attendance, but maybe for use of the soft play stuff. I suppose the good thing is we're big enough so if we get high numbers we can do some different things in different areas for the right ages. Im going to look at getting this all started by first week of Oct. would be sooner but Im away for two weeks from tomorrow. Please keep any ideas and thoughts coming - this is very new to me! Thank you, Gavin
  3. Hi all, Thank you for your feedback - we do listen, its good to know we're starting to slowly succeed. I appreciate we still have a long way to go to gain some of your confidence - please do talk to us about any problems that arise. We really want to do better for you all. Thank you, Gavin
  4. Hi all, We're looking at starting up the Plough Parents Club again. We wanted to make some changes, move the day from a Friday to a Tuesday and make it a bit more organised (my fault it wasnt towards the end I realise) We thought doing a week of soft play, a week with a guest speaker, something different (paints, crafts.... Im not sure and open to suggestions!) and then a swap shop week (we have loads of newborn clothes as our chunky two week old is out of them already!) What do you all think? Is this something that could work. Does it come across a bit too structured? Ive never organised a Parents and Baby club before so its a bit new to me! Any advice or thoughts gratefully received. Thank you, Gavin @ The Plough
  5. Neilson99 - Please do drop me a line before, or phone on 02086934236 ask for Gavin. Im on my holidays for a fortnight at the end of the week. Scrummymummy - The childrens options we have are sausage and mash, handmade fishfingers and chips, handmade burger and chips. For some reason my company doesnt like us printing them for some reason that Im trying to get to the bottom of. My team should all be able to let you know though. Pasta dish.... very good idea, I'll get onto that on my return from holiday. PipD - sorry I appreciate that this may be a bit late, we serve sunday roasts until they run out (usually about 4 / 5pm as Clare said. If you'd like to come in later, we will reserve preordered roasts for you. Just give us a call. Rahrahrah - I dont feel new, but in pub terms I probably am - I've been here since last July so over a year now. ClareC - thank you. Nice to see you on Saturday... Im looking forward to your daughter becoming my waitress, her first time training went well! Guys, I really want to hear from you all. Please dont be sarcastic for the sake of it - I want to respond to everyones feedback. Sometimes my hands are tied, but it doesnt stop me listening - especially in the hope I win lotto and am able to buy the pub!! Thank you, Gav
  6. Neilson99 - We use a company to provide our quiz masters - the current one has been with us for quite a while... but the quiz questions and pic sheets remain similar to what they where.... or was it that the quiz master just made the night? Tell you what, I'll pay your teams entry and the first round of drinks if you'd like to come and give our current master a try??? EDOldie and Bunny19 - you're right (Im not allowed to say anything more) but both pubs are run by the same company We do constantly strive to ensure customers are all served quickly and well as I know Sean does at the Crown and Greyhound we both have different ways of doing it and we dont always get it right. Please let us know when we don't get it quite right as we need to hear to continue to develop. Thank you
  7. Hi PipD, It will be great to welcome you on Sunday - it will be my first weekend back from paternity leave. You'll notice me as the one boring everyone about my new daughter! Thank you, Gavin
  8. It was a SKY TV / carlsberg advert - produced by 76 Ltd - we were not asked to stock / use either product as its TV not real life. Sue - thank you for your lovely comments about our pub, we really do look forward to seeing you soon.
  9. Hi guys, Just looked in on here... the official baby group just kind of stopped happening. I believe the mums who organised it had there little ones grow up or maybe returned to work... don't really know. If anyone would like to talk to us about arranging things, we would be interested to hear from you. Gavin @ The Plough
