Does anyone know what the council's policy is on squatters. The old bank is a council building that has been left unfilled for over two years. Outside is a main thoroughfare for kids going to school in the mornings. Police have been called a number of times due to disturbances but don't have the power to remove.

Was in there this morning for coffee on the way to work, asked to pay by card but as there was a min of ?5 and the bank machine next door wasn't working the kind lady just told me to pay the next time I was in. Don't think you'd get that in Starbucks! Rock on the indie traders.. -

I live around the corner so i'm delighted they're there - the bus stop outside is always packed in the mornings if thats any reflection of the potential footfall. Best of luck to them Now all we need is someone to do something out the half finished shops/apts across the road! -
I know this is wrong - but so is the BNP! http://www.localgibson.com/bnp/index.php?

I was driving my old MGB the other day when I got the strong smell of petrol in the car and the she suddenly cut out. When I managed to free wheel it down Barry Rd to Kevin (highly recommend mechanic for classic cars) he quickly figured out that it was out of petrol - turns out that someone had cut the fuel pipe under the car in order to siphon out the petrol the night before. Kevin mentioned that another classic car owner in ED had petrol siphoned from his car in the same week. I think these clowns are stealing petrol from old cars because they usually don't have alarms - the f*ckers!

Half marathon route in East Dulwich
Tipperary replied to coachkelly's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I can recommend a few laps around Dulwich Park then jog over to Brockwell Park and do a few laps there and then back again - you could even take a dip in the Lido while you're at it! I think if you run around the edge of Brockwell Park it's 3km. -
D*face and his family have recently moved to ED so hopefully we will see more of his work around the area

Just wanted to say thank you very much to the honest person who handed my wallet (cash and cards intact) into the ED police station after I lost it on Sat night after a bit too much booze. There are obviously good people out there in ED. Thanks, I owe you a drink/s! Shane

ED is becoming less diverse as a result of recent Demog. changes (Lounged)
Tipperary replied to snorky's topic in The Lounge
I'm Irish and have just moved to ED - If you go by the movie The Commitments we were once called "The blacks of Europe", not sure if that helps out in the diversity quest. -
Mugging - Woodwarde Rd / Lordship Lane
Tipperary replied to Tipperary's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
She was about 5ft5" with long blond hair and a fringe. Contact ED Police for more info. -
I've just move to ED from Brixton and find the EDF great for news on the area - unfortunately my first contribution is re a mugging outside the front of my flat (corner Woodwarde Rd and Lordship) just after midnight last night where a girl was attempting to rob another girl. I heard the screams and ran downstairs where the melee had moved over outside the Plough - by the time i got there a bus driver had stopped and was holding the attacker while the local vicar called the police. I know there have been a few mentions of female attackers recently and i'm just wondering if this girl may have been one of that gang. The poor girl who was being attached was covered in blood and only for her screams and concerned passers by may have faired worse. On a lighter note it was a funny way to meet my new neighbors, coming out of their houses, most "tooled up" ready to help the victim. Shane
