Car windows smashed on Oglander Road
jocher replied to twinhunters's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Another smashed window last night on East Dulwich Grove. Mindless vandalism. -
Fete starts at 12noon. Punch & Judy runs shows throughout the afternoon

But what about the green park...now not so green. Lets hope We are the Fair do a better job of 'making good' than they did last year. However organised and respectful the organisers have been in putting on this event the inevitable damage cannot be avoided. The space it took up will look very sad for a number of months during a time of year when it should be looking beautiful for all to enjoy.

Hoping the ground doesnt end up looking like it did last year for the next 6 months.

Jon cleaned my windows in East Dulwich this morning. Inside and out and the traditional way. Wow they look so clean - even in the corners where most window cleaners miss. I cant stop looking at them. Very efficient job. Jon comes highly recommended.

former East Dulwich councillor - how can I help?
jocher replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I am querying a blue notice that has been posted around Peckham Rye Park regarding a planning application for a Fair. There appears to be no app. no. I have searched Southwark planning and nothing seems to relate to it. I have e mailed Southwark planning with the details and a picture. As yet no reply. I hope you can help. -
Brilliant service. Thanks Steve.

Update on Zip Cars in Oakhurst Grove. The Zip Car in Oakhurst Grove was moved yesterday by a Zip Car representative. I happened to be in the street and spoke to the representative who told me he was going to drive around and recharge the battery and his instructions were to re park in Oakhurst Grove later. He also left another VW without the livery a few doors down which is still there. I haven't seen the liveried car since and if they are being moved around then it seems more reasonable rather than taking up a parking space for weeks on end. He said he didn't know when the Flex scheme would be starting.

Zip Cars told me this car is currently not for hire . Not until the new Flex scheme is introduced...sometime in the summer? They will not be moving the car until then. I don't see Oakhurst Grove as the perfect advertising location, but basically that is what they are doing I guess?
-
Yes it is. I have e mailed Cllr Barber.

If you have a Zip Car that has been parked in your road for a week or so it is not likely to moved for at least a month when Zip Cars are launching a new scheme. Please can you advise Louise Clarke from the Radio 4 You & Yours team who is interested in Zip Cars with advertising logos parking in residential streets. [email protected]

Does anyone have a Zip Car parked in their road? I have contacted Zip Car about a car that has been parked in Oakhurst Grove for 2 weeks. Apparently they are launching something called Flex Cars during the summer. They told me that they have no intention of moving the car for at least a month - no date given - when the cars will then be used by Zip Car members. Although we are lucky enough not to have restricted parking there is a problem with finding a parkingspace as Zip Cars are not the only organisations using the road for extended parking. If you have a Zip Car parked on your road please contact [email protected] You & Yours Radio 4

Accident in East Dulwich Road ( February 23 2012)
jocher replied to woodycheese's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Its now time some traffic calming was in place. When the flats were built and the playground modernised I asked for a zebra crossing or something similar and was told that someone would have to be killed first! Along this strip there is a playground, bus stops and shops and the distance to cross the road from there is about 100 yds in one direction and nearer 200yds the other way. Its a temptation to dodge between the traffic and I've seen lots of people doing it with kids, bikes, buggies. Between Goose Green and Kings on the Rye if the traffic isn't at a standstill then it is a speedway. Crossings are needed. The playground was packed on this lovely sunny day and thankfully most of the kids were oblivious to the accident. I shall be writing to the council.
