That depends on what you view as organic @tracymcdavis If you view organic as all that of your own hard work, blood sweat & in the case of Insta very probably tears then yes it is defeating the point. If you view organic as not bot followers then no. If you don't want to use any of the platforms/suggestions then you are completely free to just do things completely from scratch starting at 0 followers and 0 likes and slowly do all the work yourself. However, if you go back and look at the question posed ...someone wanted lots of organic followers & likes from scratch. This is possible if you have loads of great content ready to upload ...done all your niche and hashtag research in advance and have loads of free time to get sucked down the Instagram rabbit hole. It comes down to what you want from Instagram and how much time, energy and resources you want to direct towards it. As with most projects if you want cheap, fast & quality then you just have to pick 2 out of those 3. It's not possible to have all 3. It's all about choices

I use another platform which can gain you followers and likes. You can even choose the locations, hashtags and other accounts who are similar to yours to act as a guide to get targeted likes and followers. I have had paid work enquiries as a result of using it. I can recommend this place for coffee too. I was a bit sceptical the first time I went in for just a coffee but the beans are ground in front of you and it has turned into my fav coffee place on the whole lane. Everyone is friendly and at ?2 a pop as a local trader I am glad I found it. They are also currebtly doing an early morning discount too so if you don't have time to grab a coffee on the way to the station first thing then you can pick one up from there at a discount for a while.
