    Race for Life

Hi all Just wanted to know if anyone is doing any of the race for life events locally this year? I really want to take part this year but would like to do it with someone or as a group.
  2. I had a midwife from the Lanes and can't recommend them highly enough! I saw the same midwife from start to finish through what was an extremely traumatic pregnancy and birth and I must say my midwife was fantastic, even cutting her annual leave short when I had to be taken to hospital for an induction 6 weeks early.
  3. Any normal parent, middle class or other should be interested in the school they hope to send their child to as the child will be spending several years there... Anyway, opinions about local schools is one thing but I also feel you really need to try and visit the school or go to one of their open mornings as you may find a school has a good reputation but you personally don't feel the atmosphere would be suitable for your child. Also I would be prepared to visit a few choices and be realistic about your options. You may want certain schools but what you actually get may be a different story! Good luck with it xx
  4. I'm another one foe Dulwich Medical Centre. My son is nearly 2 and I had the lanes midwives whilst I was pregnant with him and they were fab, can't speak highly enough of them. I'm expecting again now and had my booking in appointment today and again all the team there were so lovely. Although I have to say that they do have a bit of a waiting list but def worth it
  5. If a card is skimmed or stolen etc then if the crook is quick of the mark or even has a mobile with internet capability to hand then they are able to make online purchases without the need for your pin number. This has happened to me before when my card was cloned.
  6. Yet again I find myself agreeing with Vik "Live and let live" I say. I would rather have a bright yellow house next door over a miserable, screaming, dirty mess any day.
  7. I agree with Vik,mine are only allowed to knock on the door of houses that have decorations, pumpkins etc and we will be doing it on halloween so the sunday. But as it's a school night we will probably be one of the first lots round.
  8. I also know of a childminder in the Goose Green area. I can give you her number if you want just pm me x
  9. I have had a Maclaren and a maxi cosi car seat and wasn't aware that the car seat can safely fit on the pushchair. To the best of my knowledge the maxi cosi isn't designed to fit maclarens but I'm sure if you look on the kiddicare website or maybe ask in mothercare they can point you in the direction of a frame that could accommodate it.
  10. I excitedly went off to the general swim session at dulwich this morning (9.30-10.30) and yes you can take babies/toddlers as I took mine and there were only 4 other people in the pool,HOWEVER,it was so cold that we only lasted 15 minutes. As regular swimmers we could ordinarily tough it out but this was just far too cold. I spoke to a lifeguard who said in the last week the temperature has risen by 1 degree but when I spoke to the receptionist she was adamant that it was the same temperature as Peckham and that people were complaining over the weekend that it was too hot!! Maybe she should read this forum as the posts I have found have all said the same thing that it was too cold. Another mum with her young daughter got in the pool as we got out and she too was out within 10 minutes!! Lovely creche though!!
