  1. You should play online; as you receive an email if you win which you can then transfer the funds to your bank account. You also get a reminder email when your ticket runs out i.e. if you usually play weekly for two weeks or more. Try it you won?t regret it Good luck!!
  2. James I also reported two street lights to Southwark Council two months ago! And as you know they are still all broken. I live on Crystal Palace Road. I will check the numbers this evening and get back to you. Regards
  3. There was a photo in the wallet, so if you don?t look like him I can?t see how anyone else can claim to be him!!! Perhaps I shouldn?t have quoted his name; I don?t think I would mind my name being quoted if I lost my purse with cards and cash. I suppose doing a good deed will always attract negative people!!
  4. Actually Sue, the police is aware of this. As I reported it to them before posting the thread..
  5. Wallet found this morning on Crystal Palace Road, by the wheel of a Navy Blue Car, opposite Dulwich Leisure Centre, I handed it to the reception in the Leisure Centre.
  6. I am a leaseholder and have experienced a lot of problems with Southwark council with repairs. I pay ?400-?500 per year for my service charge and cannot see a return, when I want certain repairs done. e.g. last year I called Southwark Council to find out when the outside of my property would be painted, as my neighbour who is a council tenant has had her property painted three times since mine was done in 1997. I was told allocation to paint my property will be in 2013, I then asked if I can be reimbursed if I do it myself and was told NO. I did paint it myself at my cost. Another issue which really p..... me off was in September I was burgled, Southwark Council turned up at my property at 11.30pm to secure my window, my window was clearly damaged and had no window locks as the burglars broke them. The guy who came round to secure the window stated that I will get a job ref within three days for the window to be repaired. I chased the repairs department after hearing nothing after three days, I chased for 10 days each time being told by the robots on customer service that they do not have my job number yet, I then requested to speak to the repairs manager, or asked for him to call me back, and was totally ignored. I then put in a complaint with Southwark, and told the complaints department that I will be fixing my window myself and want compensation once it's fixed. I was then told by the complaint department that if I fix the window I will not receive a refund, I must wait until the repairs department attempt to fix the window, which will take up to 20 working days, I was told this on the 15th of October nearly one month after the burglary, I was appalled by the service I received considering I pay for this service, Southwark Council was not interested that I live on the ground floor with a damaged window with no locks. I have since fixed my window myself and the cost (?100) has been deducted of next quarters Service Charge, however I had to kick off big time to get the deduction. If I was a freeholder my window would have been fixed within days. Southwark Council are a joke!! And I hope something can be done about this, as I know I cant be the only tenant who have problems with them.
  7. Clare it's ?19.99 per month which includes annual maintenance.
  8. @ SCSB79, I also had an alarm system fitted and have additional window vibration alarms which are fantastic. My alarm is with ADT and cost ?299, however ADT wireless alarms start from as little as ?99. The Window vibrations I got from victim support, they are so sensitive you can set it off by touching the window frame. My flat is like fort knots at the moment with alarm system, window alarms & Panic button. I know it sounds a bit extreme; however I do not want to be a victim to another burglary..
  9. Well said james84. I myself was burgled on 20th September in the east Dulwich area. Apparently homes are being burgled every week in ED, so I don?t see how crime could have decreased since last year!!. We need more cctv on residential street, we pay more than enough money to the government annually so I can?t see why this cannot be done. Sorry to hear about your recent burglary Concita, it does get easier, I was the same & they won?t come back.
  10. @ Ianr, they forced my bottom window with a crowbar (wonder bar) apparently, also the window bolts were fitted in pairs at both end of the window. The wood wasn't strong enough to hold the force is what the police advised. Thanks for the info; I have since gone for better locks now, so hopefully I am safe..
  11. @ James84 I have Crime Prevention Officer visiting tomorrow, I will mention the Vipers and other freebies!! Thank You. Thanks Candj too.
  12. Does anyone know if Crystal palace Road will be getting resident Parking Permit, with the new Lesiure centre being relocated to Crystal palace Road?
  13. @ Ianr and Jeremy my window locks were Yale Window Bolts, see attached. They forced the window open and the bolts actually split through the wood of the window frame. I now have locks like yours Jeremy, which seems more secure, there is no way the window can be forced open with these new lock
  14. @ Cate, thank you for your concern. I have sash windows with secure locks (or so I thought). I was advised by the police to screw my windows shut, as I rarely open my front windows being on the ground floor, pollution etc. I have since got new locks and am getting an alarm fitted next week so hopefully I won?t experience this again. However this will encourage a burglar to move onto another property, which is not solving the problem in the area.
  15. Sorry to hear this Lucy. I also got burgled on Monday 20th September, I live on Crystal Palace Road, & they forced entry through my front room window too. Unlike your property my window is not obscured and they still managed to get into my home in broad daylight! My neighbour was also burgled in May; they entered their home the same way. This is happening in the Dulwich area too frequent, we need more police on the beat in the area. They managed to get away with ?5k worth of things. Police found no fingerprints or leads either. This need to stop NOW!!!
