  1. I too can recommend Myles Richards (07850 367896) of Linked-Electrical Services Ltd. I contacted Myles first thing this morning to ask if he might check the electrics in a property I own and he was at the site by 10 AM having had a cancellation. He carried out a thorough inspection and tested the electrics, explaining what he was doing as he went along. I was very happy with the service provided by Myles.
  2. Like the many others who have already posted on this thread to, I would highly recommend Aston for the quality and meticulous approach to the jobs he undertakes. I had two drawers in a home-made unit that required replacement runners. This was a particularly tricky and awkward job as the unit had been custom-built and nothing was of a standard size. I'm pleased to say that Aston was able to make the necessary adjustments to fit the runners which now work perfectly. Aston also resealed a leaking shower unit which had been a problem for some considerable time and which, despite having already been resealed more than once, continued to leak. Aston explained what he thought might be causing the problem and what he would do to repair the leaks. Again, his work was meticulous and the finished job was extremely neat and tidy. I would highly recommend Aston and I certainly intend to use his services again should the need arise. CM
  3. In keeping with others on EDF, I too recommend Bradley O'Reilly (07946 328 565) & Brosa Carpets and Pest Solutions (http://www.brosacarpetsandpestservices.co.uk/). Bradley was quick to reply to my enquiry and visited the same day to give me a quote for cleaning a living room and hall carpet. He was able to to do the job the next day and took less than an hour to do an excellent job on an extremely grubby beige coloured carpet giving it a new lease of life. He was willing to move items of furniture around as necessary to do the job, and provided advice about carpet moths which had left their mark on my carpet. I would certainly use Bradley's services again after a job well done.
  4. Hi Sue, I think it is unlikely that Jamie Hooper will want to appeal the decision. However, he has 21 days to make a decision on this. I don't know if the applicant intends to appeal. The decision by the sub committee was a compromise that I doubt has left either party terribly satisfied. I know Jamie Hooper is willing to talk with those residents who supported the review with a view to making the compromise work. The biggest difficulty Jamie faces is if anyone goes out of the unlocked fire doors (Malfort Road and Ivanhoe Road entrances to the pub) after 11.00pm for a cigarette and/or to drink, that puts Jamie in breach of his licence conditions. The difficulty of enforcing this type of condition was pointed out to the Sub Committee in the presentations, but they do not seem to have taken that on board in their deliberations. Jamie will have to rely on appropriate signage and the good will of customers not to use the outside areas after 11.00pm.
  5. Hi Sue, Notice of Decision attached. Cameron MacLean (representing Jamie Hooper at the Review)
