  1. Join a fun guided walk celebrating World Mental Health Day with CoolTan Arts Largactyl Shuffle. Help raise funds for mental health in South London. Learn about musical landmarks, local musicians, sound art and the connection between music and mental wellbeing. Date: Saturday October 10th 2015, 11.30am-4pm Starts: Maudsley Hospital, Denmark Hill, SE5 8AZ (outside the main entrance) Enjoy live musical performances and learn the words to favourite London songs! Bring instruments or simply come along to enjoy the noise. By taking part you will be helping arts and mental health charity CoolTan Arts to continue supporting people with mental distress to build a quality of life. Registration is ?5 unwaged, ?10 waged.   2. Join CoolTan Arts Largactyl Shuffle for our Black Heritage Walk, a fun guided cultural walk for mental and physical wellbeing, on Saturday, 19 September, 11.45am-4pm. Starting from Maudsley Hospital, the walk will focus on South London?s local black history and end in Bermondsey. We will stop en route for short talks about the first black, female broadcaster Una Marson, the Oscar nominated actress Marianne Jean-Baptiste, the abolitionist Dr John Lettsome, and much more. Other highlights include a visit to the Bermondsey Street Festival. Please meet outside the entrance of Maudsley Hospital, Denmark Hill, at 11.45am. The walk leaders wear orange high-viz vests and rucksacks.

Starting at Tate Modern, the walk will explore local ley lines, sacred places, the Green Man, the healing well in Camberwell, shamanism at the Cross Bones Cemetery, maypoles and many other pagan and folk traditions. CoolTan Arts Largactyl Shuffle is a guided, stigma-busting cultural walk, designed to encourage mental and physical wellbeing, through art, exercise, humour and history. The walk is suitable for all levels of walking and is accessible to wheelchair users and people with disabilities. Join us for as long or as little as you like. Please meet outside the Turbine Hall entrance of Tate Modern at 11.45am. The walk leaders wear orange high-viz vests and rucksacks. Join our fun guided sponsored walk on Saturday, 11 October, through London's history to celebrate World Mental Health Day and raise much needed funds for arts and mental health charity CoolTan Arts. We will set off from the main entrance, Maudsley Hospital, Denmark Hill, at 11.30am and follow a 4.8 mile route through little known parts of Southwark to the Southbank. The theme is ?Innovation & Transformation? - in medicine, technology, arts and psychology, and will look at how WW1 affected society. The walk aims to raise at least ?10,000 which would benefit CoolTan's participants in many ways. Due to severe cuts to mental health funding, CoolTan Arts really need your help to ensure we can continue our work. CoolTan Arts Mad Hatter?s Tea Party Saturday 13th June 2015 1pm-4pm CoolTan Arts, Third Floor, 224-236 Walworth Road, SE17 1JE CoolTan Arts opens its doors for a fun filled afternoon with The Mad Hatter?s Tea Party celebration - a chance to try new things, meet new people and get creative! Join in different crafting workshops, watch an original play, and visit CoolTan?s latest art exhibition, ?Cats 22?. Healthy refreshments made by our amazing volunteers will be sold throughout the day, or pop into our chillout room where you can learn about and try different teas for relaxation. Lewis Carroll Reading We will kick off the day with a reading of Lewis Carroll?s Jabberwocky ? a unique poem that is sure to both delight and confound your ears! 1.15pm ?Jewellery making: Recycled beauty Maybelle will be showing you how to make your own beautiful handmade pieces from recyclable materials! - Mental Health and Wellbeing Talk Come along to hear from our London Health Ambassadors. Learn top tips for on health and wellbeing and how to become a London Health Ambassador yourself ? teaching others how to be happier and healthier too 2.15pm ? Mood Palette: Tracking Your Mood Creatively We are delighted to have a talk from our very own volunteer Caroline, who will be explaining an exciting new creative wellbeing project. Though her focus is in fashion, Caroline?s Mood Palette system allows you to track your mood through artistic means - from creating a palette of your mood colours to drawings that express your feelings ? enabling you to turn your moods into new artistic creations. 2.45pm ? Light-Up Headbands & Ties Workshop: Light Up Your Life! In celebration of our upcoming Midnight Walk, our volunteer Caroline will be leading a workshop to create light up headbands that tie in with the theme of our Cats 22 exhibition. Join her to learn how to hide intricate electronics within cat ear headbands and ties that will light up when moved! There will be a small fee for participation in this workshop, which can be paid on the day or in advance. To register your interest, please email [email protected]. -'Paste Paper' workshop Join us for a workshop on a craft technique that is cheap, easy and effective; all it is, is wallpaper paste, paint, paper and things you can find at home like combs and brushes but the effect is one groovy art piece! A great workshop to get you thinking about using different materials and other ways to use paint, you get effective results easily and you can do it at home for very little cost. 4pm ? Blasting Stigma We are pleased to welcome Pindrop Theatre to CoolTan, who will be presenting a play about the discrimination faced by those experiencing mental distress. Developed through an open workshop involving people with personal experience of mental distress, Blasting Stigma will tell the stories of the discrimination and trials they have faced. Cats 22 Art Exhibition: Our captivating new show will explore ideas of parodox, the surreal and perception. Meow! All artwork has been created by CoolTan artists in a variety of mediums in creative workshops at CoolTan Arts. The exhibition will run from 10th June to 10th September. Open Monday to Friday 10-5pm.   6. CoolTan Arts are holding a launch party to celebrate our new Van Gogh audio walk which will take users on a journey of discovery to see London through Van Gogh?s eyes. The event will give CoolTan participants and the public the chance to celebrate their success and try the app out first hand. Food and drinks will also be provided. When: Thursday 29th May, from 6.30pm-8.30pm. Where: CoolTan Arts, Third floor, 224-236 Walworth Road, London SE17 1JE The audio walk is a CoolTan Arts and Art Angel collaboration offering an exploration of inner and outer landscapes inspired by the writings of Van Gogh and CoolTan Artists. At the Crossroads invites listeners on a journey through the city and their own subconscious, exploring the life of Vincent Van Gogh and his connection to South London. The walk narrative created by CoolTan participants was inspired from Van Gogh?s own letters and how his mental distress might have affected his perspective of the world.   7. CoolTan?s new Public Workshops are open to anyone 18+. Learn, meet new people, have fun and get creative! Providing professional tuition in a relaxed atmosphere we offer single session workshops that can fit in around other commitments. Workshops take place every third Saturday of each month between 10am and 4pm. First sessions take place on Saturday 16th November 2013. Drawing from the Imagination - Express yourself creatively and learn to draw like the Masters! Photoshop - Gain professional skills in Photoshop with this introductory session. Learn to edit, recolour, cut out and retouch your own photos, learn how to make photo collages with Photoshop layers, and combine images and text. Cooking - Come to a cookery demonstration of cakes and culinary treats! Have fun and learn how to create them yourself.
