Another recommendation for Vinton. He redecorated our exterior masonry and all timber windows and doors which frankly needed a lot of work. He's done a great job, on time and at a good price. Really nice to deal with too. He's now working on two of our neighbours' houses

Recently used Pitstop in Upland road to replace the clutch on my car. Good price (I'd checked online what the rough cost would be and their's was a little under). all done very quickly and hassle free

Just adding a recommendation for Kim Michelet 07838 102 782. Kim built us a new en suite entirely from scratch including walls, pocket door, complete fit of the bathroom and plumbing as well as plastering, tiling and finishing. Really reliable, very reasonable and all the work was great. highly recommend

From the published map, it looks like the proposed closures etc would effectively funnel all southbound rush hour traffic directly along Dulwich Village itself with even more traffic idling at the lights directly outside Dulwich Village infants school , Dulwich Hamlet Junior School and JAGS prep. There's no mention of a 'school street' system on Dulwich Village itself. Surely one of the major reasons for this whole proposal was to improve air quality for primary age children walking to school but it looks like the proposals will just create a massive traffic bottleneck directly outside these schools. Unless I?m reading this wrong, it just looks like the proposal is removing traffic from some residential streets and dumping it all directly outside three primary schools. Surely this can't be the point of the whole exercise?

The primary school admissions offers are up on the eadmissions site if you log in. Mine was anyway

Yep, Aria and his brother fixed a leak in our toilet yesterday. As noted by others on this thread they were on time, polite, quick, identified the problem correctly and fixed it and tidied up. would certainly recommend them as I can't think of a single criticism

How/when do you hear about Dulwich Hamlet admissions

Hi Sol Just heard we got in and that's 720-odd metres. I think it'll extend a fair bit beyond that though as it's the bulge year (120 kids) -

Judith Kerr Primary school - opinions from parents please
yenkcah replied to vez's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi Yes, we've got it on the list too. It'd be interesting to know how many local families are selecting it for September 2014 entry. My main worry (as others have mentioned above) is the other kids coming from too far and wide for playdates etc. I'd also be interested to hear about the experience of parents who have children there already -
thanks

okay, doesn't sound good then. thanks for your reply -
Hi It's a couple of years away for my daughter yet but having seen the nightmare some have been going through with primary school admissions this year I thought I'd ask. We're on Elfindale Road, is it feasible we would get into Dulwich Village infants and or Dulwich Hamlet after that. I'd be interested in hearing from parents who applied to these schools this year as it seems to have been a particularly difficult year for primarys in the Dulwich area. Also, St Anthony's - how far afield does it take kids from. We attend church (catholic) cheers in advance
