  1. Does anyone know if there’s anywhere in the East Dulwich area that does chair massage? Or a mobile person that does it?
  2. Just off the phone with the parking people. I had given up trying to buy the permit using an online account which I had created so they created a new online account for me and I've now just done the scanning a Council Tax bill bit so am awaiting verification from that ... The guy I spoke to was working from home and it has actually been easier to get through on the phone this week than last week. They are still planning to go ahead with the scheme / deadline. The trick with getting through on the phone is to choose option 3 and then wait all the way to the end of the recorded message which eventually gives you the option of staying on the line to speak to someone ... My gut feeling as to why I had such problems with the online account is because I already had an account with Dash for parking, and I think that caused a technical problem. They repeatedly kept telling me that I didn't have a parking account (which I had managed to create, was just unable to purchase the permit) and that I had tried to do it using a MySouthwark account which I hadn't ... I even got someone to delete my MySouthwark account and still couldn't do it all ... All of this has been a lot of stress at a time when none of us needed any extra stress ...
  3. So some progress ... I managed to get through to a human being this afternoon ... He was unable to solve the problem but he did give me an email address and asked me to send a screenshot of the error message which I've done ... So the email address is [email protected] if anyone else is tearing their hair out with this and unable to get through on the phone ...
  4. So the knack for trying to speak to a human being is to press option 3 about residents permits and to listen all the way to the end, which eventually gives you the option of staying on the line to speak to someone ... I didn't manage to speak to someone but the inbox wasn't full today so I *was* able to leave a message today ... let's see if anyone rings me back?!
  5. Yes ... I have tried yesterday and again today and have given up again ... Tried to call the phone number, straight to voicemail with a message that the inbox is full so it's not possible to leave a message ... I am getting the message that "The customer postcode of is not in a valid zone for this permit. Please check the customer account details" ...
  6. Another recommendation for Stefan from Oven Rescue - very pleasant man and did a great job! www.ovenrescue.co.uk/selondon/ T:0203 795 1008 M:07825 953 950
  7. Thanks for your messages of support guys ... Thanks too to the park warden who sent me a private message ... Inconsiderate people may be in the minority, but this was one of three incidents that I've had in the last month, just this was the worst one ... And please note that I am making a distinction between dog owners and "profesional dog walkers" who seem to care a lot less than dog owners, presumbably because they feel less responsible for the dog than the actual owner ...
  8. Afternoon all So I'm canvassing opinion here ... This morning I was having a training session with a personal trainer on Peckham common. We had all our bags, jackets, training equipment etc by our side on the pathway. Then a dog who was with a 'professional' dog walker picked up one of the training gloves (kickboxing type glove) and ran off with it. At first we assumed that the dog walker would do the decent thing and make an effort to retrieve the glove. But they didn't. After 10 minutes of the dog mauling the glove and the dog walker running very half heartedly after the dog, we gave up and left. End result is the trainer is down a glove. He doesn't earn a lot of money and gloves are expensive. This is the worst of the 'dog walker behaviour' incidents that I've experienced but, in general, dog walkers don't seem to be at all bothered about how their dogs behave. Not everybody likes dogs, some people are scared by them, some people feel harrassed by them (I do) and I don't like it when dogs stick their nose in my handbag or lick the top of my water bottle. Call me OCD, but that just doesn't do it for me. Ok, so I know none of this is the fault of any of the dogs, but really, could the human beings not just be a tiny little bit more considerate?
  9. Another recommendation for Sam ... She replied very quickly, is very professional, v reasonable rates and refreshing to deal with a female electrician ... Her contact details are still the same as above.
  10. Lowlander ... I will be forever in your debt :-) Just goes to show that it 'depends who you get' when you ring the council, cos the person I spoke to clearly didn't know about those guidelines!! You have made me very happy :-)
  11. Am I the only person being driven mad by the car alarm which has been going off intermittently for the last three days in the part of Bellenden Road near the bottom of Avondale Rise? If any other Forum users have any experience of how to deal with car alarms going off, I would be extrememly grateful for any advice ... I tried the police and the council and they say there is nothing they can do ... They were only able to tell me that the person does live in Bellenden Road but I get the impression that they are away a lot or something ... This particular car does this about once a month ... I've tried 'polite' notes over the last few months, but that's clearly not working ... Thanks for any help ...
  12. >a vague recollection of using the vacuum cleaner to a queen soundtrack! I can confirm you did :-) x JedMk2 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Thanks to everyone that came last night. Great > night! 13. Great night out last night Danny ... what an interesting bunch of people! Thanks for organising :-)
  14. Just to confirm that this 'pink jacket' organisation knocked on our door (Bellenden) late on both Wednesday evening (one guy) and again this evening (two guys) - same patter. I decided to see what was being said on the Forum because I am also tired of these kind of visits ... had Unicef twice within two days about a month ago too ... they don't seem to coordinate the roads they do ...
