  1. Can anyone recommend a carpet supplier and fitter please. We've used carpet right before for a small room, never again. Would prefer the supplier and fitter to be the same company if possible. Reasonably priced also. Thanks in advance.
  2. We've just moved into a new flat and have a huge garden that has been neglected for years and years. We primarily need someone to collect junk and rubbish - concrete posts, matress, wood etc - that has been dumped in the garden. Someone that would also take wood and green waste would also be helpful but not essential Can anyone recommend someone reliable and reasonably priced? Many thanks
  3. Just to address the people questioning the popularity and usage of Carnegie library, I was a regular user and have been for many years. They have a regular adult improver reading group, chess club, gallery, yoga groups and many other events that the librarians have worked so hard to plan and run for all the community. Also the baby/toddler story and singalong on Fridays which some days had 60 kids plus parents making it difficult to even get in. The last 3 years at the hands of these dedicated librarians had meant that in terms of borrower numbers and users, this is actually one of the most used libraries in the borough. So yes, the library is very, very busy.
  4. Just saw this post, looks like exactly what i'm looking for. Can anyone give me an idea of the rough costs for Danny's services? I'm looking for someone to clean a 2 bed flat we're mocing into soon.
  5. We're moving into a new flat in a month or so and the place we're moving into has been vacant for a long time and subsequently needs a very good clean. We have 2 one year olds so don't have time to do it ousrelves but we'd like someone to mop floors, clean the kitchen including oven and inside cupboards and clean the bathroom, hoover etc. Please let me know if you have any recommendations for cleaners that would do this sort of one off job. I guess it might be sort of an end of tenancy-clean thing. Many thanks in advance.
  6. I just got rid of a glut of decent excess underwear. Traid have a home collection service and take all sorts of clothes that are in a decent condition and very handy if you can't get out or travel far.
  7. Does anyone know if there is a French speaking nursery in the local area? I thought there was one based in Crystal Palace but I can't seem to find the details now. I'd be interested in French speaking story or singalong baby groups as well. Lastly, if anyone knows of a French free school locally or plans to open one I'd be very interested in hearing about it. Many thanks
  8. Hi There We're looking into Help to buy mortgages and someone suggested that a financial advisor might be able to help us look at mortgages and discuss our options. Can anyone suggest someone that they have used and been happy with or one they know of that could help us? Many thanks
  9. This makes me happy. I went into EDD once to buy bread and once was was enough. Rudest staff ever. Ignored me in the queue for an age then eventually served me very, very begrudgingly. Very foolish given all the amazing places to get delicious food in ED.
  10. Hi there I bought a second- hand breast pump a few weeks ago & this morning it made a weird noise & now has conked out leaving me pump-less with one half of twins that won't breastfeed. If anyone is good at fixing things please get in touch. I'd really appreciate the help & can't afford to buy a new pump so am in a really tricky spot. Yours hopefully Louise
