  1. I have just been quoted an extortionate amount for re-doing the flashing at the top of my victorian "conservatory" - Nearly £900 and it would wipe out most of my state pension for one month leaving me with just £25.00. Are there any builders out there who could be recommended for something like this?? Who would not rip me off so dramatically?. It just requires the removal of the existing render and flashing and then re-applying with similar but using wider flashing to extend further down the conservatory glass roof.
  2. Hi everyone. My long standing Friday family who came to me for lessons on Fridays up until they left the country just before lockdown, and now can no longer attend, thus I now have space for new students either via Zoom or at my home in Oakhurst Grove. Recorder or Clarinet can ( weather permitting) take place in my garden, but if piano it can be either via Zoom or with masks worn by all present, in my music room, with ventilation. PM me if interested. I can teach people aged from 4 to 74!!
  3. I found yet another clothes item when clearing some overgropwn winter jasmine. Its a grey top that a very young girl would wear. My neighbour told me the foxes left a large bone in their garden, and that they are getting in through a hole in the fence. In my garden there was a hole filled up under a tree that had been theri route in.They have dug another hole to get into my garden under same elderflower tree!! No news about who these items belong to so I am going to donate them to my neighbour who does have a little girl aged about 3 and I think these would fit her. The others would fit her mum.
  4. A friend of mine had her purse stolen from her bag and got it back from a neighbour. The fox had spent none of the money and everything was still in her purse!!
  5. Not armed but banging on the patio door's glass making a racket
  6. Hi Everyone Just wanted to alert anyone who lost a few items from their washing line recently. Yesterday and today I found a total of 4 items. Anyone who lost 4 items please be prepared to describe what you lost! I have laundered everything. As I live in Oakhurst Grove they could have been brought by the foxes from Oakhurst Grove or Crystal Palace RD in my estimation. A young fox has been very active recently in my garden, including trying to break open an inspection cover to a drain, making so much noise it was unbelievable. i think this fox has now given up in that respect after threatening behaviour from my own gentle self!!
  7. Hi again Just to alert people that I now have spaces available for new students on THURSDAYS both after school and during the afternoon BW

  12. Hi there, having just heard that Newham Council is withdrawing funding for all specialist music teaching in the borough from the end of this term, which means I will no longer be getting back late after the end of this term I will have spaces for students to come to my home at 60A Oakhurst Grove between 4 and 5pm on Mondays thru Thursday. My availability at these times is from the first week of July. I look forward to meeting anyone of any age who wants to learn one of these instruments.
  13. Ah Now we know ! So they carry the cards but not the parcels. Thats no longer a decent service....
  14. Yes its entrance is in Tintagel Crescent. I can walk there and do.
  15. Personally I am in favour because there is a van business owner who takes a liberty and has often taken up all the available parking spaces on my street ( Oakhurst Gr) so I would welcome a parking permit system and would personally prefer it to be limited to the middle of the day eg 12-2 on my particular street which seems to be a practical excluder of those who would otherwise take unfair advantage. Quite often if I come back from a rehearsal at about 10.30pm I have to park quite a long way away often in other streets not adjacent even to Oakhurst. There is restricted parking on Lordship Lane anyway, but on Northcross RD it is both business and residential. Most people using those shops can walk there as they walk to the Saturday market there so I would suggest all this is taken into consideration. I use my car for evening rehearsals and concerts, and for my getting to my Saturday music teaching at elephant but otherwise I use public transport during the week to get to my various music teaching jobs. When I exit from either East Dulwich or Peckham rye, it seems to me that most people are walking home and not just getting into a car.
