  1. Ok, Ok... I never meant to imply that I would actually do anything illegal about this, and am well aware that this is just a petty grievance, slightly inconvenient for us is all it is, I know I know; but if I knew that I wasn't going to use my car for a while I would try to park it somewhere that wouldn't inconvenience someone else. I tend to move my own car after a couple of days from outside someone else's property if another space becomes available. And I think it's great that not everyone drives in London every day, but 7 weeks is quite a long time and I'm just beginning to wonder whether perhaps it has been abandoned and whether it's possible to get it moved on. That's all.
  2. It's just kind of annoying that one has to elaborate a story to make them do anything about it. But inspired by all your suggestions I am composing my complaints even as we speak. JK Rowling got nothing on me (apart from several million). Will keep posted.
  3. Thank you ianr - most informative.
  4. Unfortuantely not, or I would at least know if it belonged to someone local and I could politely knock at their door and ask them if they were likely to move it, but the info held by DVLA is protected, or something, so the council and police can access it, but I can't. Might be worth a trawl through Google I guess. Or is it? 5. Quite agree, it's just really annoying when my own disabled relative visits, and I can't park outside my own house - I could rant on, but won't. I am also aware that I do not own the street and of course anyone can park here but it's been here for such a long time that I would like to know why!!! And whether it will ever move. Am really quite impressed with car theft (!) knowledge. TillieTrotter Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > What if there is a valid reason for it being left > there. 7. Believe me, if I knew how to hot wire a car I probably would have nicked it by now - driving round in someone else's, taxed car for a few months??? Yes! I daren't even try the door in case the alarm goes off and I am left with that to deal with too. Although, thinking about it... perhaps that would be dealt with quicker. Reported this to the council before Christmas and they have just about put it on their 'to do in 2009' list. Will try the police, thanks for addresses.
  8. Does anyone know what to do about cars that have been dumped? I can only assume that the rather nice Mercedes that has been parked outside my house for the past 7 weeks has been left by some mad fool (or thief) and the council say they can't move it until the tax disc runs out, which is not til the end of August. Advice please!
  9. Or train from ED or Peck Rye to London Bridge (10mins) then Jubilee line up and across to Bakerloo. Just an idea.
  10. Thanks for that. 4.15 this morning was bleedin' unfunny. Drastic action almost took place.
  11. Just rang and explained my predicament and was put through to environmental lady who was completely bemused and had to refer to her superior. Didn't lodge official complaint but might. One of my kids has been up at 5.45 'inexplicably' since arrival of cockerel. RSPCA would get involved if living conditions not up to standard, but not sure what those would be.
  12. Live v close to the big chicken and also hear it every bleedin' morning. Council will do nothing about it as it is not an offence to own one in built up area, though think it should be; noise pollution may be an issue but they wouldn't treat it as urgent, they tell me. It is on CPR but I won't be silly enough to give the number unless big mob promises to go round with hammer. Anyone know where I can buy a fox?
  13. Mr Green, who owns the Art Stationers in Dulwich Village, knows everything there is to know about this area and carries all the Ordnance Survey maps and has written books... you get the picture. I would think he'd be delighted to assist. I have heard that there was an enormous dairy farm in thearea.
  14. Yes, I think it was the Pearly edition. Thanks for responses. Just trying to make a case for a decent discount if we advertise again.
  15. Did anyone receive September's Living South mag? Been asking around and many seem not to have got it. Bit annoying as had advert in. Would appreciate some feedback to gauge if they had circulation probs. Cheers.
