  1. I've just had a new bathroom installed and was so moved by the experience I have to recommend the installer! After the nightmare that is having an extension, I was expecting a new bathroom to create at least a few problems. I hadn't anticipated the brilliance of Dave at flujo.co.uk, a specialist bathroom and wet room installer. From the amazing quote, which was detailed and accurate, to the quick and efficient service, I couldn't fault him. He was in and out in a couple of weeks, and everyone who worked for him was efficient, friendly and helpful. Nothing perturbed Dave. Even when he found out that the joists where the loo sat had been cut by the people who built the extension, leaving the old loo's security based on a slither of linoleum, he didn't break into a sweat. He just organised for the situation to be resolved as quickly as possible at a decent cost. In a sea of cowboys, where it's difficult to trust anyone, Dave is a trustworthy and skilled tradesman. Our bathroom is now a thing of beauty, and we sit on the loo with confidence.
  2. We have a roof like Swiss cheese, but want a loft conversion in a year or so, so no point getting it redone. After looking for good roofers on here, we saw the Russell Perring (07852 972 052) was constantly recommended and so we asked him to do the job. We weren't disappointed. He said that although the roof really needed to be redone he would just patch as much as possible, and even made recommendations that saved us money and stopped him from making more out of us. We have since had a couple of leaks, due to the nature of our dilapidated roof, and each time he has come straight round and fixed the holes for us. I can't recommend him enough and will definitely use him when we do finally get our roof done.
  3. It's seen better days, apparently. Anyone got a man with a ladder that they trust to give them a poke? All recommendations gratefully received!
  4. Could you recommend a good bricklayer? We need someone to shore up our brick arches and do some pointing work, any help finding a good bricklayer will be much appreciated! Thank you.
  5. Latchmere pool in clapham has wave machine every half hour and a little elephant slide. And kids can go at any time of day, there are no kiddy slots, always suitable. It's great!
  6. At the risk of being a total opportunist, I'm a food blogger, someone mentioned us before, www.crumbsfood.co.uk. We do a whole section on food for grown ups - things that are quick to knock up after the kids are in bed, and all you want is some decent nosh (and a glass of wine - we have wine recommendations from our own in-house sommelier, darling). Here you go...http://crumbsfeedyourfamily.blogspot.com/p/food-for-grown-ups.html Hope it helps.
