  1. my daughter's birthday is coming up, another lockdown birthday. has anyone organised a murder mystery zoom party for their kids? the kids love Among Us so i think that something like that will suit their interests but if anyone did something more interesting please share your ideas. thank you
  2. morning my son is like yours but in y3 so i have friends with children on the spectrum. I would recommend talking to the schools yourself, on email or call with the senco. I have heard good things about charter ED and they are also opening an ASD centre on site which should be very useful. also heard good things about chanter ND and Kingsdale. good luck.
  3. it went till SO late. i got woken up at 4am by people seemingly leaving the party shouting and some falling over. i am surprised the police didn't get involved. i could not tell where exactly it was coming from that's why i didn't call them. surely it's not right though....
  4. hi there looking for recommendations of a speech and language therapist who is willing to work privately with a 7 year old boy, diagnosed with ASD attending a mainstream school, at school or at home. my son has experience of SLT since he was 4 but unfortunately his SLT has now taken a full time NHS position. if you are interested please could you comment or DM me. other parents recommendations really welcome too. many thanks peggy
  5. Wonderful school. Caring, hardworking teachers and brilliant grounds. Have two children there, one with SEN and they have both flourished there. If you would like more info please PM me. Would very much recommend a visit (my daughter got in there instead of Heber that was our closest school and was gutted at the time but honestly it's the best thing that could have happened to us).
  6. Hi there I have a 7 year old girl that is a very enthusiastic dancer. She is not necessarily what you would call graceful and good at it but she loves it so I would like to find her a class for next academic year where she can practice without being told she is not a natural dancer. Preferably not ballet, preferably Monday Tuesday or Wednesday. Can anyone recommend somewhere where their kids go and enjoy? Thank you

    Advice

Thank you. He is blocking the road, off street parking. Do I report him to the council? He also regularly throws cigarette butts out of his window into my front yard but doubt I can report him for that! In general not the loveliest of neighbours....

    Advice

Hi there Looking for advice on something. We live near a main road would prefer not to say where exactly.one of the neighbours constantly goes out of his flat and puts the bins out and blocks parking spaces. As soon as you take them off he hears it and gets out and puts them somewhere else. It is very annoying as parking already difficult. Question is is it illegal? He is a bit intimidating looking and I feel weird approaching him.
  10. Also can recommend Ross (Tegan services). Quick efficient and very neat. Give him a call.
  11. My daughter went there and had a great experience. It was a few years ago now (3 to be exacf). The woman that ran it was not a great people person and there was parents that didn't love that but she was always great with the kids. If you would like more details please free to PM me but as I say it was 3 years ago...
  12. Hi there The nursery kids have access to "little stars" on after school hours. Little stars is the provision for under 3s and is staffed by nursery workers and TAs. Have a chat with them to see if there is space though. Hope it helps!
  13. We are having another power cut at the minute, third evening in a row, apparently this one because of a burst water pipe. It does happen but 3 evenings in a row is just too much. The last two were just over 3 hours so will see about this one. We are on crystal palace road.
  14. I need a second car key for my car as I managed to break it. Is there anywhere around that does them or do you need to go to the car dealer? Thanks in advance.
  15. My (just turned 3) year old boy goes to Bessemer Grange new 2 year old provision which is brilliant, very experience staff and good atmosphere plus meals included. There is of course a waiting list now, but maybe worth a visit.
  16. My daughter left her brand new scooter on Sunray avenue yesterday afternoon (on the corner with Crossthwait on the left hand side as you are going up the hill). It was my fault really I didn't put it in the car... If anyone has found it we would be so grateful if you returned to Bessemer Grange Primary school (or message me here and I will come and get it), it has her name on it, Eleni Cosgrove and it is black and pink. Thank you in advance.
  17. my little boy was late speaking too, had about 20 words at 2 but not that much more than that. Have researched the subject to death and my advice is DO NOT GOOGLE. I know it is very tempting but try not to. In short, I spoke to a SALT professional and to the health visitor who said that as long as you see progress some kids just take longer than others... He is now 2.5 and every day the sentences he says get a bit more complex. The SALT lady at Bessemer Grange where they run speech and language workshops said that at 2.5 they expect them to say 2 word sentences and sometimes because we compare we expect them to say/understand a lot more than they actually are Give it a bit of time but if you are nervous look to the sessions in local primary schools (it is not long till term time starts again). I am sure he will just do it in his own time, which believe me I know is frustrating but sometimes there is nothing else you can do about it.
  18. Camera on Sydenham hill flashed me today (though I was going at 20m/h! I am very confused by this, and to add to it I've had 3 cars and a motorbike overtake me on the same road a few metres after the camera. If I get a ticket (though really I don't see how I was going maybe 21,22 at the most is there a way to complain to the council? (Is this a question for James Barber?) Thanks.
  19. One more vote for the Davy Crockett, we liked it cos the kids had their room and there was another room for us as well as a living area/kitchen so didn't need to go to bed when they did. Hope you enjoy our kids were 2 and 4 1/2 when we went and we had a wonderful time (enjoyed it much more than expected!)
  20. We only had the one child with us and she was 3 at the time but I remember sitting at squares where there was a playground. I don't think I have been to another European city with that many playgrounds. The park was great too. Also since your kids are a bit older they may enjoy the museums. In general there was nowhere that was out of bounds, everywhere was welcoming and very child friendly.
  21. I didn't think the joke had anything to do with the ED stall, just had to do with Greeks and the way they deal with debt. And I can tell you people, not necessarily politicians take it very seriously. Anyway, it is just an odd day for greece and maybe I got a bit over emotional. Looking forward to sampling the food anyway.
  22. Haha how funny. In fact it's not, is it? Maybe just put yourselves in their shoes for one minute instead of making ridiculous jokes? As someone with family there I am very concerned about what is happening. So maybe lets talk about kebabs instead?
