  1. During a thousand years of foregoing sporting or military success against England, the buggers have developed a sensational cellar and kitchen
  2. Sorry to hear that. You should try these people. They cut corners, but they get the job done.
  3. Well said. The frogs wouldn't put up with this kind of rubbish.
  4. They claimed that they were fully booked on the finey diney side of the imaginary line, notwithstanding which I saw several unoccupied tables for the duration of our stay. I think they didn't want us because we had a baby buggy and, as I may have mentioned, a baby covered in baby poo. What was not to like?
  5. Just gone there for a Sunday roast, and was grossly disappointed. First, they would not let us order from the 'proper' menu which had roasts on it because apparently there is an imaginary line in the pub and we were on the wrong side of it. Has we been on the right side it was, I was told, "find dining". We were stuck with the bar menu - and the bloke was none too polite about telling us. I asked him why we couldn't order from the menu that we wanted to. "We tried that and it didn't work", he said. Didn't work for whom? Then when the food arrived they had unilaterally changed the ingredients. It was noisy and overfull and we had to wait forever. p.s. can't really blame them but the baby shat itself within seconds of our arriving and there are no facilites so we ended up dining amidst baby poo.
  6. I'm not calling you names, but I am agitated by your desire to hijack this thread in order to make your peculiar anti-black comments
  7. It's nothing to do with race. The colour of the people causing the nuisance to me and my family is incidental to the noise they create. It could equally be coming from a car stereo, from a neighbour with a drumkit or from any one of a thousand other sources. The mere fact that it is coming from a church, and the congregation happen to be black, is neither here nor there.
  8. Yeah, well, anyway. Anyone know how I would go about silencing these people? Is it a matter for the council?
  9. Short of nuking the place? I don't even have the guts to ask them to keep it down. It is particularly annoying that they do it just at the time when the rest of the world is trying to get some R&R. Would anyone care to join me outside the church to distribute copies of The God Delusion of a Sunday?
  10. Is anyone else bothered by the incredibly loud, tuneless, rythmn-free music that eminates from the Church of the Sabbath Keepers at the top of Bassano Street all weekend every weekend? They seem to have borrowed Animal as their drummer. Would God approve? I think we should be told.
