Not all "British people of Caribbean origin" are "Black". Some are "White", some are "Indian", "Chinese", "Arabic" and so on. Or a mixture.

Last time I went to the ballet, the overwhelming majority of the dancers were "White" - and they were very good dancers. Some seemed almost "born to dance".

I've no interest in (or knowledge of) sports, theories about genetics or the skills of various "races" at running, jumping, swimming, drinking or dancing. I just thought I'd correct some basic errors in your post.

Western? Every time I've flown to the West Indies, the 'plane has flown...west.

The "crime map" told me that Buckingham Palace and Downing Street had almost five times more reported crimes than my postcode.

It told me that my area has seen a trebling of reported crime between May and June. From 2 to 6.

So, what have I learned from this? Nothing.

I've been trying to get through Shepperton Babylon: The Lost Worlds Of British Cinema by Matthew Sweet. I - like others, perhaps - was expecting a UK version of Kenneth Anger's two Hollywood Babylon books but it's somewhat less racy.

The recent Radio 4 dramatisation made me pull (Kathrine) Kressmann Taylor's novella Address Unknown it off the shelves to re-read. Chilling and thoroughly recommended.
