  1. Good afternoon I am looking for a childminder to collect my 2 kids from Dog Kennel Hill Primary school from September 2013. My son is aged 3 and my daughter is 8. I need someone available from around 3pm to 6pm, three times a week and who lives close to the school . If you are interested please send me a private message with your qualifications, your rates and how far you live from the school. Any recommendations are welcome. Thank you.
  2. Good afternoon. I left my previous job when my second one was 10 months old. Now that he is big enough, I have decided to get back to work, but unfortunately I can't find anything. I worked as an office clerk and Marketing Assistant for the past 5 years (before being unemployed). I have been looking for 6 months and nothing has come yet. I am getting desperate especially because I am no longer entitled to job seeker's allowance ( it was not a lot but at least it helped me). Honestly, I am getting lost now. I am willing to do any kind of Jobs, like in customer service, retail or catering. I don't know what to do. By the way , I am a native French speaker. Could you please give me any advices on how to increase my chances to find something. Thank you
  3. Hi everybody! My Family ( mum, sisters with their children (3-9 y) is coming for a couple of days to London( they live in Paris) I was just wondering what I should do or visit to make the most of their time. They are staying for 4 days. And I want to do something different for each of them , each day (mum, kids, sisters). I know if the weather is good I am planning to have a pic-nic. (hyde park or East dulwich Park ) But I would like to show London to my mum (first time for her). To entertain the kids Have you got any ideas of what to do,to visit which is not too expensive , for the kids, for my mum , (for my sisters it is sorted as we 'll go on a shopping trip.)
  4. Thanks again, I think I am going to wait a bit longer and see how I feel. It 'll all be better in time (hopefully)
  5. Thank you all for your comments. Yes the main thing is that I completely lost my confidence. So I don't know if resigning will help me. I am not happy with the job I am doing, but it might be me and not the job. I don't know how to have my confidence back . I don't think I could afford not to work as my little one has just started nursery and is doing really well. So I have no concern about him. In fact I feel lost, exactly like kemurf when she went back to work. Any advice to become more confident.
  6. Hi everybody, I just went back to work after 1 year off due to maternity leave. My boy is 10 months old, he is going to the nursery and has no problem there. The only problem is with me, I am not comfortable at work , I regret being there, even thought I am working part time. I feel really emotional, and don't have any interest in what I am doing. I am thinking of resigning. I would like to know if something similar has happened to you, I mean, You took you maternity leave-you went back to work- and then you did regret it and resigned.
  7. Bessemer grange is far from where I live It takes at least 25 mn walking to get there as there are no direct transport . they might have places available, but it is taking too long to get there compare to Goose green (2mn walk ) or Dog kennel hill (2mn walk as well). The school is a bit hidden .
  8. Hi clare, I did the in year application with southwark but they put me on the waiting list and now it depends on the waiting list from the schools I applied for. Because southwark won't allocate new places unless they are some available in the schools. I don't know if this is clear. In fact it is exactly the same because it depends on the school, even thought the application are dealt with Southwark
  9. Thank you for your help. I live near Dog kennel hill, I am on the waiting list at Dog kennel hill Primary school and Goose green. But I thought I will have more chance to have a place at Goose green as Dog kennel hill is full. I am gonna follow your advices, keep contacting them and see how it goes. Thanks again.
  10. Hi everybody! I moved to east dulwich 5 months ago, my daughter is currently in year 1 in the school where we used to live (Elephant &Castle). I made an in year application form for a place at Goose green primary school( nearest school) but I am on the waiting list. I was just wondering how long will it take before she can have a place there, because it is not convenient for me to go to her curent school, as it is really far from where I live now. Has someone of you had a similar problem?, is there anything I can do to speed up the process. Iam desperate. Thank you for your help
