  1. I'd like recommend my cleaner, Debbie, to anyone who is looking for someone. Debbie's been cleaning my flat and doing my ironing for one day a week for 12 months and she's been completely brilliant. She's very thorough and is very flexible if I ever need to change days. She's currently looking for another cleaning job in the local area so if you are looking for someone you can contact her on 0797 912 8233 If you need any further info please pm me. Jonny
  2. I laid my own parquet floor; we found the floor on ebay reclaimed from an old school in Romford, cleaned it up ourselves, set it out, laid acoustic matting and plywood, and laid the parquet floor, then hired a sander, varnished and polished it. I'd be happy to advise and give you some pointers if you wanted to do it yourself, its hard work but not impossible and will work out a lot cheaper than hiring someone. Good luck.

  6. I am a local architect based in Peckham Rye, close to Bellenden Road and Goose Green. I have been working in practice for 14 years in central London for big practices such as Bennetts Associates, Platform 5 Architects and Pollard Thomas Edwards Architects, and I have recently decided to set up a practice of my own called massingbird ltd. www.massingbird.com My experience ranges from designing and delivering small residential extensions up to large scale city developments; more information about me can be found at the website above. I am currently working on residential extensions in Homerton, Crouch End and West Wickham and I tutor regularly at Brighton University and Nottingham University two days a week. I am able to help with planning application drawings, 3D images and visualisations, development of your design ideas, understanding construction periods and build costs and specifying products. I can help with designing house extensions, understanding potential problems with logistics and drainage and construction, kitchen and bathroom refurbishments, loft conversions, re-organising internal layouts, garden landscaping, underpinning and below ground extensions, and I have connections with structural engineers, quantity surveyors and party wall consultants. Please feel free to contact me on 0786 646 6195 if you would like to discuss your ideas with me to understand how they might be achieved.
  7. I want to recommend a local plumber called Andy. He's very reliable, lived in and around Peckham and East Dulwich all his life, knows the area well, very friendly, always turns up at the time he says he will and does a fantastic job resolving the problem. He's sorted out my central heating after it was botched by builders installing a new shower room, and he did this for me on Christmas Eve! He's identified the source of problem leaks and even tidied up my shocking silcone work around my bath in the process, and has given me excellent advice on how to prevent future problems and what kind of kit to install. All round perfect plumber. His number is 0798 368 8451.
  8. Thanks for the tip but its not mine. I did mention that scooter to the police when they came round as I've noticed it myself, but they said its not been reported as stolen.
  9. My scooter has been stolen from outside 46/48 Adys Road, if anyone knows anything please either get in touch with me or the police. It was a white vespa piaggio LK08 ONV, I'd had it less than 3 months, and it was a replacement scooter for one that had previously been burnt to a crisp by vandals about six months ago on Nutbrook St/Adys Road. I am extremely cheesed off and it would be great if I could find the theives who did this. Thanks,
  10. I'd be very interested, looking for desk space for an architects practice in or close to Se15
  11. Hi there, I am a fully qualified sole practitioner architect based in SE15 close to Goose Green, and I would be very interested in this kind of work. I have over twelve years experience in practice doing a variety of architectural work from small scale residential to much larger buildings, but i have recently decided to set up on my own and I am looking for work; you can review my CV at www.jonnyfisher.com. Please get in touch if you would like to chat about your project and I can give you some guidance regarding my fees and contractors and build costs. I look forward to hearing from you. Jonny
  12. Hi all, it was my bike, and my neighbours bike that were burned out and my house that was damaged. It looks as though someone set fire to one bike which ignited the other two which were parked close by, luckily there was a big gap between the last bike and anything else flammable which stopped the whole thing going down the street in a chain reaction. Even though the fire cracked the window the flames didn't manage to catch inside the house which would have meant the whole building going up in flames, and even more luckily, the downstairs neighbours were away that night so the rooms with most damage were uninhabited when the smoke got in there which would have been fatal no doubt as it was extremely toxic smoke and it was a babies room next to the street. So all in all, a lucky escape for everyone and just smoke damage and the loss of motorbikes. If anyone knows who did this they should know that the person who started this fire very nearly caused the death of small child with their act of mindless violence and have caused thousands of pounds worth of damage, only a small proportion of which can be claimed back on insurance, not to mention the shock of waking up in the middle of the night with a ball of flames outside your bedroom window! They deserve to be dealt with by the police and shouldn't be sheltered from the consequences of their actions. I'd just like to say thank you to all the people who have stopped and chatted to me and my lodger and expressed their shock, concern and support, it means a lot to know that neighbours are all good people who care. Thanks again. Jonny PS I don't know who the owner of one of the bikes is, I have a feeling they are currently away on holiday, so if anyone knows who owns the blue scooter that is usually parked on the corner of Nutbrook St and Adys Road, if they could contact them and let them know that would be helpful also. Thanks.
  13. Hi all, We are looking for recommendations for a joiner or carpenter to manufacture and fit a new front door and frame. We also need the joiner to carefully remove an existing stained glass fan light and then re-fit it into the new frame. Thanks
