I'm hoping for SS13 they get some coffee ice cream in.

I'll be sticking to Hope and Greenwood. I love their ice cream.

Forest Hill cinema was great. Unlikely Wetherspoon's will give that one up). I haven't read this whole thread(s) but I think there's a campaign in Crystal Palace to reopen a cinema up there too (currently being used by some god botherers).

Y'all should try living in Bethnal Green....
I've done that as well.
-
The white ones which were vacant for ages .. yes very open to public scrutiny. They look nice now they're lived in.
-
If I see rubbish dropped around my house (usually Lucozade bottles and the occasional chicken box) I pop them in my bin. It would be good if more people did the same.
Mind you if you think ED is dirty try living in Clapham.. the streets are really filthy there.

Yes... Citroen dealer. I can see it in my mind like a yellowing Hipstamatic print. I remember getting my Esso 'Man in Flight coins' when my old man filled up the Austin with 2 Star.
There was a really hideous care home down there too. I used to think one of the worst buildings was the new flats up Underhill overlooking the cemetery.. But now they're lived in and have plants and look loved I rather like them. My ugliest vote goes to the sad looking conversion of the old Heber Arms... Mainly because closed pubs make me a bit sad.
-
'this gets my vote. in fact either side of Underhill at Barry Rd.. how ugly can new builds get?'
Totally off topic.. But I had a childhood flashback and I think there used to be an Esso petrol station opposite the timber yard. Anyone remember that?
-
Not that I'm against modern buildings (quite the opposite). It's just a shame nobody put a beautiful modernist dreamscape up there.

Dawson's Heights are reasonably ugly. Like a monstrous carbuncle on the face of a much loved friend.
-
I don't mind them.. But there are too many for the space.

One forgets there were bombs going off all over the shop in the 70's.

BUT JUST THINK.. IF THAT HAPPENED TO ME HERE WHY NOT HAPPEN TO YOU OR NEXT DOOR !
Yes we get it. It happened to me three years ago. Horrible and upsetting but it can happen anywhere but in the end it's only stuff and you get over it. It would be good to see more police wandering about. And good if everyone stays vigilant.

The area around the lake might be tolerable. I used to get the 12A there to go fishing.
-
I think you'd find South Norwood a bit depressing.

Hopefully the redesign won't be too glitzy. It has got great potential as a pub and very near to me so hoping for great things.

The nearest thing to a p**s up in a brewery.

'As this entire part of South London becomes more affluent, chains are much more likely (to continue) to operate in Peckham as the retail units are appropriate for that use. Chains are not a rich / poor thing. In poorer areas, cheap chains open, in more affluent areas, chains that target a richer demographic will open. McDonalds, KFC, Primark etc are all already on Rye Lane.'
I can see some big changes to Rye Lane in the next few years now that it's so well connected.

As I understand it Chez Nico was where Mr Liu is now....
Correct.
-
There's a walk in centre in Peckham. I had to use it.. It's a good service.
-
I traveled to Shepherd's Bush yesterday. The changeover at Clapham Junction is very straightforward.. Just a short walk along the same platform.

Somewhere to buy pants.

I've seen Spall in The Herne a few times.

Underhill Road by the sound of it.
Very Old Pic (Apparently it's an East Dulwich house)
