  3. St Faiths hall on red post hill is nice for that age group as it has a big enclosed garden in the back as well as the hall and a kitchen.
  4. Yes you?re right, my son is the same age and this board was very helpful for support and info when he was little. I guess that was maybe driven by a few people who used it a lot and others followed.
  5. I?d recommend induction but wish we had gone for wider than the standard 60cm size as it get tricky to fit all the pans on for a big meal.
  6. @boddle what hob do you have please? Our AEG induction hob just died so we need to replace it and I can?t cope with the ones where you have to select the ring first and then change the temp.
  7. My year 7 son age 11 has just started meeting up with friends on their own in local parks on weekend afternoons. My main worry is they will injure themselves while jumping off/over things so I?m signing him up for a first aid course for teenagers. He cycles to school which I find a lot scarier. He met up with friends in our very closest park from year 6 but there would usually be at least one parent there at the beginning and/or end in year 6. The all setting off alone and coming back alone is new for us.
  8. I?ve been lucky enough to have some interior design help from Emma recently and I can totally recommend her services - she?s very easy to get on with, warm, down-to-earth and was non-judgemental of our very non-designed home! She has a really practical approach and came up with brilliant solutions for space and layout problems that had been bugging us for years. She also has a wonderful eye for details and colour schemes and is very flexible in the way she works. If you are struggling to fit all the clobber and activities of family life into a space that always feels a bit too small, and also long for it to not just look like a dumping ground, I can strongly recommend asking Emma for help! She doesn?t have a website yet as she recently started her own business after many years of doing the interior design for hotels and cruise ships, but she is on Instagram @emmamastersinteriors and her email is [email protected] I?m so happy to finally have a clear plan for how to make our house nice - thank you Emma!
  9. Hi, did you find anyone to do this? I have the same issue.
  10. I've seen mention of an icon to click on to add links but I don't see any icons in or near the text entry field. I've tried it in safari, chrome & edge and they all look the same. Can someone tell me what I'm missing? Thank you!
  11. My son had a couple of 1-1 swimming lessons with Carol at Jags a few years ago which were really good, I?m not sure if she?s still teaching there but definitely recommend her if she is. He also did lessons at superkids swim school which uses the pool in Dulwich prep, the classes there are very small, only about 4 kids per teacher with very good teaching & I?d recommend that too.
  12. Just that really , would be grateful for intel if anyone knows if any nearby or London adventure playgrounds are opening, maybe from next week? Thanks!
  13. That drive is horrendous and you?d spend 4 hours in the car every day. No school is that good!
  14. Ihank you to everyone who has posted on this thread! I called Tony this morning, he came round this afternoon, fixed a toilet flush that's been bugging me for years, then showed me how to reset the pressure on our central heating & how to recharge the air gap in our megaflo and explained when & how to do it again so I can do all those things myself next time. I'd tried to figure out the megaflo from youtube videos before but now know I've never actually done it properly! He was lovely to deal with, with none of the patronising or annoying chat you often get from tradespeople. I totally see why he's rated so highly and would recommend him for any plumbing job. He's coming back soon to replace a radiator and a sink for us.
  15. I'd like someone to come and upgrade our old BT wiring, move the main phone point to the inside of a living room cupboard and run ethernet cables to three first floor bedrooms. I also want all the old wiring on skirting boards identified and removed, and a fused switch added near the main phone point for a wireless alarm to be installed by our alarm company. Has anyone used an electrician or telecoms specialist to do something similar and would recommend them? Thanks!
