  1. My daughter is at the Half Moon Montessori and loves it (so do I).
  2. We go to the toddler group and really like it, and the pre-school also looks great. Think there is quite a long waiting list though.
  3. We're in almost exactly the same boat, aprilfool. When I've spoken to DVI about this, they have said that the criteria is nearest CoE school, rather than nearest available CoE school - so if you're closer to St Judes, then you won't get in on a foundation place (even if, in fact, you can't get into St Judes because there aren't enough foundation places there). However, despite that, they said to apply for a foundation place in any event as you then get two bites at the cherry (although this doesn't really make sense, as if you don't qualify for the foundation place, you are only really getting one bite at the cherry, in the same way as you would by applying for an open place).
  4. that's really helpful - thank you - do you know where one finds a drop in speech therapist? It feels like it's a case of her mouth not being able to keep up with her brain, but she has had a lot going on recently (new sibling, starting at nursery etc). I also find that I rush her more than I used to now that we have a baby as well, as I'm conscious that I only have a small window to get the eldest fed or dressed or whatever before the youngest needs a sleep, feed etc. So maybe she's picked up on that and I need to slow things down. Will also speak to nursery and my husband (who's been telling her to slow down and take a deep breath!) Chantelle - my daughter does a mixture of repeating words at the beginning of a sentence and stumbling on the first few letters of a word.
  5. My daughter will be 3 next month and in last couple of weeks has started stuttering - not all the time, but reasonably frequently - she doesn't seem particularly bothered by it and we aren't making a big deal of it in front of her, but just wondering if anyone else has had any experience of this? Just wondering whether we should be doing anything specific, or whether it is just a phase that she'll grow out of. Thanks!
  6. Another vote for Zina at Myla and Davis - I went on Wednesday and think it's probably the best colour I've ever had (husband agrees!)
  7. Try Conil on the Atlantic Coast of Spain (nearest airport - Seville). Mostly Spaniards, beautiful long sandy beach etc
  8. My first was the same and would only really sleep in a sling during the day for the first six months (which probably seems like forever for you now, but I promise, will go very quickly). Then, at around six months, she was perfectly happy to sleep in her cot during the day and, at 2yrs 7mths, still has a couple of hours sleep after lunch every day. I think sometimes they are just not developmentally ready for what you are trying to get them to do and trying to force it just makes me go slightly mad (and is miserable for them) - I found a better reaction was to leave it for a bit and then come back to it every so often and try again.
  9. Thanks for that nunheadmum - GP has referred us to the same place, so hopefully we'll end up with the same GP you saw.
  10. I think there might be something in this 4 month sleep regression thing? My daughter will be 17 weeks this week and until last week had been on one feed around 330/4am ish for AGES. However, since last week she's been waking up 2/3 times a night for no apparent reason (last night was 230am - fed her - 4am - replaced dummy and 530am - fed her). It's knackering! She's exclusively b/f apart from one formula feed around 10pm. Does anyone know whether they un-regress themselves and, if so, when??!!
