  1. Thank you for the update. Really helpful and thank you very much for your work as a volunteer.
  2. I agree that the London Wildlife Trust have done a great job with the woods and yes people have been really selfish. Don?t know about empty Tofu wrappers but did see loads of empty cups from Gails (picked up 2 by the bins). However I?ve also looked on the website and can?t see any information either. Communication is really important. Wouldn?t it be easier just to set out what the position is to avoid any ?assumptions?. Also if you are a dog owner (as i am) and bins full then would suggest walking with your poo bag to the next bin that isn?t which I assure you won?t be a million miles away.
  3. Hello. Appreciate it?s just out of your ward but presumably lots of your constituents value Sydenham Hill Woods just by the plough which is a community open green space but has been padlocked off. No communication and would really value someone taking a look into this. Thank you.
  4. Presumably this is linked to the application to cut down the oaks trees further up and the campaign to stop this happening. I can remember Helen Hayes MP and one of the councillors saying on social media that this had all been sorted. Is there any reasonably competent council official that can advise and better still help resolve ?. If a padlock can?t be sorted out then haven?t got much faith with regards bigger issues like health, jobs, schools etc. Find it insulting/incompetent that someone (presumably paid by our council tax)would block access without any justification/communication. Things like access to public open spaces always important but particularly so in middle of lockdown where options limited. End of rant but just to say a big thank you to the campaigners (not paid by our council tax)who have been a much better source of information with obvious objective of preventing trees being cut down.
  5. Yes ditto. Can someone confirm that access to Sydenham Hill Woods is blocked ? Would seem like a remarkably dumb thing to do and surely must be some form of wind-up If so why and by who?s authority. It?s a public footpath leading to extremely important local resource I.e the woods I was there yesterday and it was open as usual and as it has been for the whole of last year.
  6. I think many people who have lived in the area for some time would know who this person is and some of the context but I feel that it is highly inappropriate for you all to talk about him in such personal, often mocking terms on such a public forum. Imagine how distressing it would be for a family member to come across these posts. He?s a person with issues and needs support but part of the community. Please have some basic human respect !. I?m reporting this post to the administrator as frankly disgusted.
  7. ok cheers, thank you for sending the link over. My bad in terms of lack of awareness. Seen quite a few around the area and must say they look really stylish and warm. The one I was going to buy didn't have fur, but felt I would be buying into the brand. I guess it's not a huge issue if they are being bought by people who live in a really cold climate but what was going through my mind was that they must be selling coats on an industrial scale.
  8. I was going to order a Canada Goose jacket online [not the full on Parkas with all the trimmings], but just to be sure visited their Regent Street store today to try one on. Lots of people there protesting about animal cruelty, particularly the use of Coyote fur. Had no idea of the controversy surrounding the use of fur for the hoods etc. Decided to take a rain check on purchase even though jacket I wanted to didn't contain any. Seems to be lots of conflicting information on line and wondering if anyone wiser on what the situation is ?.
