  1. Perhaps the grumpy-and-overbearing / misunderstood-and-actually-quite-sweet-when-you-get-to-know-him manager might spot this thread and retrieve the situation (a la Green and Blue) by offering a special East Dulwich Forum foccacia and olive oil tasting session?
  2. James Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- >even better than Dulwich Park (apart from > the lack of Cafe and London Recumbents) The new build on the Rye (between the one o'clock club and the recycling bins) is going to be a cafe - confirmed on the smart new map they have put up next to it. Could this be where Starbucks are re-locating too?
  3. Le Chandelier is also going to re-open - understand it will be a Chandelier shop / upmarket tea shop hybrid. Doesn't sound like a money spinner but then what do I know, I gave the 'old fashioned sweet shop' idea no more than 6 months.
  4. Tell me about it. I have been storing my collection of old bottles and tins there but each week they vanish.
  5. We had our veg box stolen this week. Fools should have been around 3 weeks ago when there were 3 cases of wine under the hedge. Now having to implement drastic security upgrade (hide veg in recycling box?).
  6. CAF? NERO BANNED !!! In a spectacular development at the Dulwich Community Council this evening CAF? NERO?s application to change its designation from A1 (retail) to A1/A3 (retail - restaurant/cafe hybrid) was rejected, on the fairly complex grounds that it is really a restaurant/cafe and as such causes the balance of retail outlets vs all other types of shop front along lordship lane to fall beneath a 50% limit. They can appeal but until they do it appears that the council can now turn up and force them to stop selling food and drinks to sit in customers. There was 1 objector who spoke, who is being woken up every 30 minutes through out the night by extractors they have installed 2 ft underneath his bedroom window (also without planning permission). Caf? Nero obviously not good sorts, as long suspected by general Forum sentiment.
  7. I am going for the first time at the weekend to celebrate my brother-in-law's birthday ... he describes it as "some of the best irish-mexican fusion cusine in the world"
  8. Thai Pavilion is not cheap but the food is excellent, they deliver as well. I had heard lots of good things about the Thai Corner Cafe but was very disappointed when I went there - I hadn't previously been aware that tasteless dutch tomatoes were a key ingredient in Thai cuisine.
  9. Wasn't there talk of a logo for the Forum? Surely dirty old lamp post with reflective barrier edging captures the spirit of ED quite nicely?
