  1. Just got ours for ?15 from Homebase (about 5ft), well pleased with it. Surely someone looking for a donation would be better approaching a big business like that, than a street trader trying to make money.
  2. Bugger, after all those comments, I forgot to do my predictions until just now, so missed the early kick off.
  3. Grateful, yes. Massively releived, yes. Overwhealmed with love, yes. Proud? I don't get it. I didn't put anyone down, I asked "why?"
  4. Yes, top stuff. Family Room has been sadly lacking any tear ups of late.
  5. Why would anyone be "proud" of their kid walking? That's like being proud of them breathing. I agree that keeping a record of milestones is sensible, as they may be needed down the line. But to take pride in them suggests it's something you've acheived. Which it isn't, it's just stuff that happens at some point.
  6. And wouldn't be surprised if you're right about Liverpool. First 11 can give anyone a match, but they've got the depth of a kid's paddling pool.
  7. Agree, 12:30 match sucks. I like Sunday 4pm. After Sunday luncj has gone down a couple of pints and the footy is perfik.
  8. Yeah, why not. Not that I'll be at all surprised by a Spurs win, because Liverpool are Liverpool, but I think they could go there and get a result with the form Suarez has been in...
  9. On current form, I'm going to predict a Liverpool win.
  10. Ooooo, Spurs Liverpool. That should produce goals...

I don't think anyone on this thread has lacked perspective in so far as realising how lucky we all are compared to many humans around the world. My point above was that in MY life, knowing I'm richer than a lot of other people in other countries, and even in this country, doesn't really mean anything. What would be interesting would be to break down that top 1%.

And they won't because they're as bad as each other.
  13. Oh and speaking of things to avoid, Assassins Creed Pirates is kinda fun, but VERY samey. Unless of course the game changes as you progress, but from what I can tell so far it's just sinking ship after ship. At no stage (yet) do you control a character, just the ship.
  14. Don't know yet, haven't been asked to buy anything yet. The game cost ?2.99 so I was hoping to avoid all that. I'll play a bit further and let you know.
  15. Haha, Oh dear.
  16. Just (well on the train this morning) played the first 10 minutes of this http://www.telltalegames.com/thewolfamongus/ It looks really cool, and the soundtrack seems cool so far. Think it's going to be enjoyable.
  17. On the rare occasions that I've bothered getting in to work for 9, the Canada Water experience is a nightmare. I've had to let 10 trains go before I could squeeze on to one. The annoying thing is one stop later it empties out. I tend to just get to work for 10. Much less stressful.
  18. Hahahahaha! Quality! "I was really upset and humiliated" Typical overegging.
  19. "You might live longer but the human body still has frailties in the 60s and 70s that make it unsuitable for certain occupations" This! I have a friend who is a female paramedic standing at about 5ft,2. She will not have the physical strength to haul people off the floor when she's pushing 70. That's just one example among many.

Thought I'd missed this, but it's on next week, 17th December. Eubank is the last in a series of 8. ITV Website " After losing to Steve Collins in 1995, Chris retired, only to return to the ring the next year before being defeated by Joe Calzaghe and Carl T hompson in his final fights. Suddenly he found the public had affection for him, and he speaks of his surprise: ?This was in ?98. In ?91 didn?t I show this heart? But you only recognised it when I lost. Strange, but wonderful.? He makes a good point about us brits loving a brave loser.

And he needs to give Rio a verbal slap and tell him that it's up to him when he picks his team.

Yes. Although those are his words. But I've said before that I think it would be the decent thing for SAF to just disappear for a while, at least just watch the match from behind tinted glass in a box. Moyes was always going to have the ghost of SAF on his shoulders, but SAF is making it even harder for him!

I'm no Roy Keane fan, in fact I think he's a nasty peice of work. But I thinkhe has a point here http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25307471 (the bit about the current situation at United, not the rest of it). I do however think that him talking about someone else's ego is the very definition of pot and kettle.

We could have an American theme next year and do 12.13.14.
  25. Nice shot!
