Secondary school clubs and childcare vouchers
E2 replied to mima08's topic in The Family Room Discussion
The clubs at charter are mainly free. There are a few that are run outside the school that are paid for like tennis and cycling. I don?t think you can use vouchers for those. -
James will you be discussing fly tipping? It is a real problem on Darrell road behind the nursery. The street lights have been broken for months which means it?s dark and easy to dump rubbish. I?ve reported the street lights 3 times. Not the only street in the area where are lights are not repaired and rubbish dumped in the dark.

I asked our postman yesterday if they are clearing the backlog. He said no, there are piles just left there with no staff to sort them and no plan to clear the backlog.

Just recommending Robert again. He fixed my laptop over the weekend in just half a hour. Very reasonable price and great service.

Are there any in person puppy training classes starting locally at end of May?

Looking for someone who can measure and fit a patio awning. Any companies that do this at a reasonable price please.

If you need any phone or laptop repairs I highly recommend Robert Cast 07864901815. Just repaired the cracked screen on my son?s laptop. Reasonably priced and really helpful. Search @phoneRepairSE22 on Facebook

I have an 11 year old and we don?t have it. A lot of his friends have it and spend far too much time on it. I make sure that he is busy playing sport and generally not in front of a screen. There was moaning at first when his friends had the game but even he says that it is all people talk about and it?s boring. Holding out will save you constant arguments about stopping the game in the long run. Have also heard about children being verbally abusive to others through the on line chat.

Goose Green councillors - how can we help?
E2 replied to jamesmcash's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hi James Another building site issue on Upland road at the end near Crystal Palace Road. The builders building one house are making a complete mess of the pavement. Drain now blocked, so mucky water all along the gutter, pavement blocked randomly and vans parked on double yellow lines so there is no safe place to cross. A lot of school children walk along this road and need to be able to cross safely. Be good if you could look into it. Thanks -
We're not churchy and we don't find it too bad. My son never even mentions religion! For me the positives of the school completely cancel out the religious aspect. The new head is good. I don't think he does come across that well when speaking to large groups of parents but he has made some positive changes and does listen and respond to parent feedback.

I have a child in year 6 at St. John's and st Clements. We've been really pleased with the school. The teachers are good, there is a real emphasis on art, music and sport and they do forest school. Facilities are great and it has a large playground so children actually have lots of space to play. They have good communication with parents and always striving to improve. Most importantly the children are happy and engaged.

Piano now moved by Jan (detail above). I would definetly recommend them.
