  1. Great service from Dave the Drain, thanks for the tips above. Answered his phone straight away, came out next day, and solved our problem very quickly. Very competent and professional service
  2. Fantastic turnout of 200 runners at the first Peckham Rye parkrun. Hope that sort of attendance is maintained! Every Saturday, 9am, near the Colyton Road entrance to the park.
  3. Thanks for the advice so far. To answer a few of the questions, - we are end terrace, and it's the wall without a neighbour which is having the problems - yes we have both double glazing and central heating so this is a possibility - but again there is no issue on the other side of the house at all - no major building works going on at our neighbours' I think we'll have to keep a close eye on it, fill the cracks when the weather gets better, and keep fingers crossed! In the meantime if anyone has any other thoughts we'd be very grateful.
  4. We bought a house in East Dulwich 2 years ago (2-storey Victorian terrace) and had a full structural survey which did not show any problems. Since we've moved in, cracks have started to appear on one side of the house. They run all the way along the join between the wall and the ceiling, and there are also some diagonal cracks in the corners of the house. They are relatively small at this stage (just smaller than the "10p coin test") but are slightly worrying given they are all on the same side of the house. I know subsidence is a possibility in the area so this is a concern, but it's also clear the house was re-decorated shortly before we bought it so it may be due to sloppy building/plaster work. We're hesitant to contact our insurer at this stage (?3k excess on subsidence claims!) and the only structural engineers I've been able to find are charging ?400-500 just to come and have a look. Can anyone offer any advice at this stage, or is there anyone that would be prepared to come and have a look and has the knowledge to determine whether or not this is likely to be a structural issue?
  5. Time for my regular DHFC propaganda post... Hamlet have won SEVEN games in a row and now sit four points clear at the top of the table. New Year's Day sees the eagerly awaited return of the local derby against Tooting & Mitcham, at Champion Hill. It's a 3pm kick-off and we're expecting a crowd of about 1,000 so it should be a cracking atmosphere - and hopefully another three points for The Hamlet. Entry is ?9 for adults, ?4 for concessions, and as usual under 12's are FREE if accompanied by a paying adult.
  6. A quick update for anyone who hasn't kept up with Hamlet's fortunes this season... - We still sit third in the league, a point off the top two of Maidstone and Hythe Town - The midfield magician Erhun Oztumer has scored 12 goals in 15 games and is making his name as one of the finest players to turn out for Hamlet (in recent years anyway) - We have a brand new website which now makes it easy for you to find upcoming fixtures and get yourself down to Champion Hill! We are away to Arlesey Town in the 2nd qualifying round, who play in the Southern League Premier. Match to be played on Saturday 22nd September. N.B. We had a home league game scheduled for 22/9 which is now postponed. The next home game is now Folkestone on Saturday 6th October.
  8. Hamlet drew their FA Cup match at Godalming on Sunday, meaning there is a home replay at Champion Hill, this Tuesday (11th September), 7.45pm kick off. Only ?9 to get in for adults.
  9. A quick update for anyone not following the results this season... DH have continued their form of last season, and won 4 our of their first 5 games (including the FA Cup preliminary game). We currently sit 3rd in the table, a point off the top two. Home form has been excellent with 3 wins out of 3 and not a goal conceeded yet. Highly recommend people get down to Champion Hill when they can. There aren't any home games for a couple of weeks as we keep getting drawn away in the cups, but that gives you a chance to make plans for the following forthcoming home fixtures: Sat 22nd Sept - Hythe Town Sat 6th Oct - Folkestone Sat 20th Oct - Leatherhead Sat 27th Oct - Faversham
  10. T & M got relegated last season so will provide the perfect opportunity for a feisty local derby!

Good summary - after failing to score after all that pressure we were always vulnerable. Ah well, time to concentrate on the league!
  12. Do you have to wait to get served in The Clock House, or are the drinks lined up waiting?! I'm just wondering whether "bar presence" is more important that drinking ability / fitness when it comes to my training!
  13. We live at the end of Dunstans Road and use Honor Oak Park every day (I work in Canary Wharf, my partner near London Bridge). It's only a 15-20 minute walk, but even for relatively young, fit people that hill can be painful! An extension to the 63 route would certainly make our lives much easier.
  14. For those who aren't aware... Dulwich Hamlet have reached the Ryman League Cup Final for the first time in their history. The big match is tonight (Wednesday) against Wingate & Finchley, and is being played at Imber Court, the home of Met Police. With the play-offs still in reach, could it be league and cup glory for DHFC this season?! Good luck to The Hamlet!
