  1. Used to love the Dulwich Sports Club bonfire. Deeply disappointed last year when, instead of everyone being able to stand around it, the fire was well fenced off down the end of the field. Bit pointless as a bonfire. Health and safety I guess.
  2. I heard that talk too bawdy-nan, and the similar one last year when students began in yr12; the very embracing of all abilities, want you to meet your potential talk finished with -- and you will not be able to continue if you don't get Ds or merits .
  3. The Charter tell students to leave if they don't get D grade at AS level. Decent results obtained by removing students getting lower grades. High grades wanted not students reachng THEIR maximum potential. Edited to correct typo
  4. A positive response. Thank you to James, to Alleyn's and to those of us who contacted Southwark and the school.
  5. Charisma gynastics club (details come up if you google). Boys groups on Saturday mornings held at Dulwich College. Highly recommended.

Perhaps you could let us know - was a different or extended licence in operation on Saturday?

The above conditions - definitely.
  8. Thanks Barred. A similar, incisive, solution focussed email to Alleyn's will undoubtedly be appreciated. ;-)
  9. There are always more important things in the world than the stuff raised in pretty much every thread on this forum. That's the nature of the forum. This was an incredibly loud ; drums, shouting, music wedding at a venue licensed to stage such events in the future. So ,yes, it is (relatively) important for those who had it inflicted upon them to contact the school about: Licensing Why there wasn't a contact number for the organisers (schools are required to provide an out of hours contact number) The proposed frequency of any future events Why neighbouring streets weren't advised that such a loud event was going to take place What the school considers its duty to be as a good neighbour to those in the local area who had this inflicted upon them (this isn't like a one off party, this is a business benefiting financially at cost to non-benefiting neighbours) And if the school aren't contacted then they'll just think it's ok to do it again. As it was this event met the criteria for calling out the Southwark noise team.
  10. Can hear it some distance away. Surely need licence/permission for this? Seems to fit Southwark noise action team criteria to me- particularly if still going after 12. Typical Dulwich estate lack of concern for others IMO.
  11. Most thrilling thread for ages. Am spending too much time now vicariously exploring rucksacks. Asos has nice ones - I rather like the Rains ones. Know what you mean but I do love my Eastpak. Let us know what you go for in the end!
  12. Eastpak Wyoming Rucksack Good straps, not too chunky. Looks better than usual rucksack. Leather(?) bottom and decent comfy carrying handle. Bought one in TK Max years ago. Used weekly, still going strong. And at 25-40 quid more replaceable and chuckaroundable than Herschel etc herschel basic backpack doesn't have enough pockets - no exterior quick access pocket. Def get something that not just one big compartment but also not something with loads of fiddly compartments. Whistles ones were half price at Next. I had a look at blue metallic type one. Nice. Roomy. Good pockets. But wasn't convinced the straps would hold up to the amount of rubbish I shove in mine.
