I'm looking for someone who can fit an Ikea wardrobe, board over a small internal window and, ideally, wallpaper one wall. Not a huge job but could be ideal for someone wanting a bit of extra cash. RPK073

So....after a number of rather frustrated posts on here on the back of having 2 months of what can only be called "cowboy" builders, I rather fortunately stumbled across Darren and Steve who came in and got through more in a week than the others did in 8... Left with NO bathroom including toilet (or anything) over xmas by the first guy - he literally walked out and left a complete mess including work which I have had to since pay for to be corrected, as well as upsetting my neighbours - Darren and Steve came in and did the job efficiently and without fuss. I am very happy with what has been done and found them both friendly and would not hesitate to recommend them for similar work. RPK073

Having now been let down for the THIRD time by a tradesman off here, I have given up on looking. On a deadline at work I have rushed home despite being on an important deadline, to meet "Nick" who couldn't nw bothered to turn up, or in fact, bother to tell me he wasn't coming. This is on the back of having my bathroom wrecked by another tradesman whose name I would be happy to share via PM on request and a third who promised three different start dates before saying he couldn't in fact do it, despite formally agreeing to and asking me to spend money on additional materials he apparently needed to start... I am at the conclusion that the general quality of tradesmen on here is unreliable at best and downright rude at worst - based on my own experience of course.. If anyone knows anyone who is,a qualified bathroom fitter, tiler, installer who could start now i would welcome their recommendations. Very disappointing RPK073

Seems noone wants any work in Dulwich anymore! Ive been badly let down by 2 bathroom fitters now; the first I got off here who bascially destroyed my flat and left the place in a complete mess to the point where I had to take evidence. The second was a recommendation who made promises he had no intentaion of keeping. I am pretty shcoked and disapointed at the quality of traders in the area who are actually prepared to actually have some respect for their clients and do as they said they would. My request was quite simple and to actually see how some of these guys work is shocking; how they remian in business is anyones guess. My request: Main requirements: Finish floor - grouting, may need some levelling. Seal and skim one wall. Tiling on 2 full walls; 2 half walls Rad fitted Bath and toilet linked up. Is this really a big job?? Just after someone who has a few days to come in a complete the work I have been so badly let down with Thanks Richard.

What is it with some of the trademen around here?! Having advertised for someone to come and refit a small, ground floor bathroom I've now had a second guy not deliver what was promised. The bathroom has been started with much of the plumbing done so I'm looking for someone to come and fit the units and tile. It cant be hard can it?! I'll spare anyone by not revealing who has been so far but if someone is an experienced reasonably priced fitter/tiler who is ready NOW please let me know. Having employed someone off here to fit my bathroom, unfortunately they turned out to be unreliable. Not great right before Xmas.. I'm looking for someone to come in and finish the job. Small barroom in East dulwich. All materials here; just looking for a reliable tradesman ASAP. RPK073

Hi I am in the process of doing up my flat which is part of a period property. The bedroom has a bay window and the external wall suffers from excessive condensation (black spores, damp lines on the wallpaper etc). I have been been told it isnt damp and is down to lack of ventilation which the insallation of airbricks should resolve. A guy came round and quoted me (Ian) who i found on here, but he decided to not bother in the end so Im starting again. Ive had other quote which was pretty extortionate so just wanted someone to come round and sort it out so i can decorate! Not a big job; may require a covering on the internal wall and air brick but either way it just needs addressing. Anyone know anyone who can come and sort out would be very welcome! thanks R

Hi - I am after a cleaner from beginning of December however only a small one bed flat in ED so just after someone for couple of hours a week. Maybe too small a job for her but if she wants to squeeze it in between the bigger ones I could meet her in a week or two to discuss. Thanks R

Could anyone recommned a RELIABLE, reasonably priced bathroom fitter please. I have had 5 people look at mine and only 2 came back with quotes; one was way over what I wanted to pay so looking at getting a third quote by way of comparison. Any help much appreciated. thanks R

Hi - just going through past threads; looking for a damp expert to check on some condensation/damp on an exterior wall. Had a guy lined up who I will spare the embarassment of naming on here but let me down FOUR times with some excuse or another, often without letting me know so looking for advice of others if anyone can help Rich

I recommend D and L - number further up the post. Did a cracking job on my fence after I was let down by the guy who was meant to do it. Very reliable and reasonable. Rich
