diable rouge Wrote: -------------------------------------------------------hi diable have you used the b and q colour matching they use their own valsper paint as a base and said one is with primer and one is without.. Didn't realise any paint came with primer.. Just wondered if you have used their paint and its worked out well.. Have used that service before.. But I could physically take in the piece to colour match but with farrow and ball it's just on my phone.. Can they match from that.. I think I need buy sample farrow and ball.. Paint piece of card and take I'm? Do you think it works out cheaper.. Do you suggest the thick brush as roller will more likely pull paint off of the wall? .

Thanks nxjen.. I may end up doing thst will test a bit first. Do you think paint doesn't look so nice over the paper aa it would if just on the walls

Thanks kidkruger that's great I noticed was one piece coming up at the top and thought might be weight of the paint.. So I will either stick it down any lose bits or maybe test a bit ie take off the wallpaper behind the door and see how it goes.. Might be easy to take off might just be the one layer and yes woodchip :) but just tiny few woodchip not ugly loads of it!do you think paint colour doesn't come up looking so good on the paper compared to the bare wall

Hi there, I want to paint the walls of new flat it's old Victorian conversion not been decorated for 35 years plus. The walls have paper on.. Some rooms it's plain paper other rooms it's got the little bits in.. Sorry can't think of correct term for that.. The colour paint I like is in farrow and ball which is a lot of money to me! I didn't really want to take the paper off as assuming massive job and maybe walls need then plastering. So wanted to ask advice.. If you recommend painting over the paper and yours turned out OK!? Or it's bad idea. No sign of mold and paper surprisingly in very good state not coming off anywhere.

It's good you went with your gut feeling and posted it on here out of concern for others and wanting to alert people just incase this is something. I have no children but if I did I would definitely appreciate knowing this. Well I appreciate it even though I don't have kids for others and my wellbeing just incase!! it's always good to go with our gut feeling!! -

Hi there Today at 4.30pm two people managed to get through our main door downstairs into the hallway of our flats.. And then attempted to get into flats upstairs.. Its old Victorian house.. Rubbish flimsy lock landlord doesn't care at all about our safety. I called the police and gave details and I took photos.. They present well the female mixed race in 30s in navy suit and briefcase and male a black guy in a cap and brown blazer and jeans. Made out looking for a Sandra.. But there are just three flats here no Sandra. I imagine they were scanning seeing what's possible and passing info on.. Very scared will now know its a complete opportunist house to burgle Just letting you know to be careful incase come across them knocking on your door or see them attempting this on street.. I know its not East dulwich but its close!

Large extension to flats on Dunstans Grove
sarah-marie replied to Rowanofski's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hi All, I wanted to let those of you who might not know that there has been another planning application submitted to develop Quarry Court at 2 Dunstans Grove Last time due to the volume of objections the permission was not granted and really hoping that might be the case again this time, if enough people wish to object.. The time period to post comments/objections is between now (2/11/2017) and 22/11/2017 and you can find the application on the southwark planning website by searching for application 17/AP/3997 http://planbuild.southwark.gov.uk Thanks Amber -

hi there Today i received a letter from the planning division advising me that an appeal is going ahead against the council's decision refusing planning permission for the development... how can this be- after the council became involved etc how now can the planning officer decide! !?? just as i thought i could relax and think of the flats as my home again!! have others received the letter or just us in the flats- says can add comments by the 27/2/2017 appeal ref number- APP/A5840/W/16/3164939 I just hope lots of people again comment etc so we will all be able to stay in our home here! and the development does not go ahead and also upset the nearby residents!! -

sarah-marie replied to sarah-marie's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
thank you NewWave I read the post on se23 and its a bit scary as yes it actually fits very well the description of him and his way of being... I had not yet rung 101 but I am going to do that now ... I had convinced myself I might have been overreacting. -

yes I will thank you -
hi there This evening shortly after 7pm I was walking home down Peckham rye just past Barry Road heading towards Honor Oak not Peckham rye opposite Peckham rye park and a man past me and I could sense he was looking at me and he leant forward to me as he passed me and started to try to talk to me...I didn't make eye contact and I ignored him and carried on walking a few minutes later I was concerned incase he was following me.. I turned to look and he was...I felt worried as there wasn't anybody else at that moment in sight I started to make a call on my phone thinking that might deter him and I started to walk really fast..i looked back again and he had started to run.. I panicked and went to the nearest house with a light on... as I stood on the doorstep talking to the lady he did not go past and I saw him cross the road and go into the park. Please note he was not out for a run in the park ... it might sound like that as I said he started to run.. he was a white man not English had jeans on, shoulder length hair, slim build I might have been panicked for absolutely no reason but my instincts told me I was not safe and im glad that I went to the house.. just wanted to put it on here to say to be extra careful ladies..
