I just wanted to recommend Dave Reilly, of Plastercare, who did an excellent job on the damp problems we had in our Victorian terrace. He explained everything very well, made minimal mess and was very happy to work round the other workmen and their tools/benches that were littering the house. We've just had our Danby Street garden re-imagined, re-engineered and re-planted by Nigel Hawkins. Frankly, its fantastic. What impressed me about him when I met him was the number of solutions he had to our garden's myriad problems. He and his men did a great job tearing up the concrete patio and laying decking, putting out a beautiful lawn that is thriving and then planting up the borders in a way that makes them look very established, even though they have been here just a matter of weeks. He's a bit of a hippy, with an off-kilter take on life, but he has a focussed intelligence that is evident everywhere in his work. I would reccommned Niko as well. Our boiler stopped and he came out at 11.30pm to fix it. He is not a boiler expert- but he got it running long enough for me to call a proper boiler man next morninngout to change the faulty parts. He's a good bloke and has a passion for what he does.

I wish to add my voice to the John Powers fan base. My boiler broke at 6pm. He was out in a restaurant but kept texting me advice on what (and what not) to do. He was round the next morning- got her up and running again and at a very reasonable price. Thanks John.
