  1. CoolTan Arts Largactyl Shuffle ? William Blake Walk Saturday 17th November 2012 Start: Tate Modern, SE1 9TG Ends: Bunhill Cemetery Times: 12noon ? 4:00pm Cost: free/voluntary donation Join CoolTan Arts Largactyl Shuffle, a guided, stigma-busting cultural walk, designed to encourage mental and physical wellbeing, through art, exercise, humour and history. This months walk focuses on William Blake, an English poet, painter, and printmaker (1757 ? 1827) who is considered a seminal figure in the history of both the poetry and visual arts of the Romantic Age. We will start from Tate Modern and finish at Blake's burial place at Bunhill Cemetery, exploring the City of London along the way. Our walk leaders will share with you talks and readings exploring the themes of Blakes work and life, covering - Poetry, Art, Religion, Politics, Revolutionaries and Mental Health! Come along and add to the discussion, share your thoughts and ideas, enjoy the company of others and have fun. Voted one of London?s Top Ten walks by Timeout magazine, the Largactyl Shuffle is fun, free, fully accessible and a great way to meet new people! The walk leaders wear orange high-viz vests and rucksacks. Call CoolTan Arts on 07985 658443 if you cannot find the group of walkers on the day. The walk is free but voluntary donations will be appreciated. Please wear comfortable shoes and bring a bottle of water. The walk is accessible to wheelchair users and people with disabilities. Time: 12 noon Start: Outside Hackney Museum, 1 Reading Lane London E8 1GQ Ends: Hackney Wick Join CoolTan Arts Community Legacy Walk - on a free guided cultural walk around the Olympic Boroughs of Hackney and Newham. Meet outside Hackney Museum at 12 noon. The walk will last approximately 3.5 hours and end in the vicinity of the Olympic Park Along the way our friendly guides will tell you stories of the art, culture and mental health history of the local area. Learn more about the history of Hackney's psychiatric hospitals, the hidden river of Hackney Brook, the local memorial to Blind Fred, a match seller, and the rich history of non conformism in Hackney! The walks are fully accessible, free and open to all. Please wear comfortable shoes and bring a bottle of water. All Welcome! The project is also recruiting and training new volunteers to research and help lead walks. CoolTan Arts welcomes volunteers with disabilities, or without disabilities. Volunteers will get training in First aid, storytelling, mental health first aid, and Walk Leader training. The group meets at various locations in Hackney on a Tuesday 12 noon to 3pm.   3. CoolTan Arts welcomes you on a FREE guided walk run by volunteers. Open to everyone ? our walks are wheelchair accessible, and we have ?escape points? if you need to leave early. When? Tues 29th May, 12:00 ? 15:00. Where? Meet outside Hackney Museum (off Mare Street) at 1 Reading Lane, Hackney, East London, E8 1GQ. Buses stop on Mare Street, nearest train: Hackney Central. Walk finishes at the Olympic park. Nearest tube: Pudding Mill Lane, nearest buses and trains: Stratford. What do I bring? Wear sensible shoes and waterproof clothing, bring water to drink and sandwiches, as there are not many cafes along the way! How do I join? Just turn up, but do let us know if you have access needs we could help with. Places will go fast, so let me know. This is useful for anyone looking to boost their confidence and assertiveness, and feel better about speaking in public, speaking up at meetings or giving talks. We are looking for friendly people to help us run free guided walks in East London. We have other free training available for volunteers on this project. You can take advantage of this free training if you agree to help us run a few of our walks!

Invitation: International Women?s Day Celebration and Conference including an art exhibition ?The Women of Dickens? 14th March, 2pm-7pm at CoolTan Arts Arts and mental health charity CoolTan Arts celebrates International Women?s Day with creativity, workshops and a conference, exploring the female archetypes in Dickens? novels such as Nancy Sykes, and not forgetting Miss Haversham?s wedding dress. Workshops on the day will include: ? Women?s Poetry ? explore your poetic side in a safe all female environment ? Self-Advocacy ? inspired by Dickens ? skills to help take control of your life ? Violence against women ? Assertiveness workshop ? Personal finance ? practical ?tools? for managing your money After the conference, stay on for the Private View of our new exhibition for International Women?s Day: Women of Dickens, showing artwork and fashion inspired by the female characters in Dickens? novels and exploring the position of women in Dickensian society.
