  1. Hi all, Does anyone know of a physical shop where I can buy Dulwich Hamlet merchandise? As far as I know, there isn't a shop at the ground (correct me if I'm wrong), so I was wondering if anywhere in ED sold it. Thanks in advance!
  2. Has anyone used this recently? Was going to take my car here today as it's the most convenient, but mixed reviews have made me wary. If not here, does anyone have a recommendation for somewhere else nearby?
  3. I'd like to put in another good word for Silvano Bozza. I've just passed my test after only a couple of months of lessons with him. He's a lovely bloke, patient, and explains things clearly. His rates are also extremely reasonable. As above, details are [email protected] and 07702615834
  4. Absolutely ridiculous the other night. One lad racing an actual motorbike at full throttle up and down the cycle path at about 10pm, waking up the newborn baby in one of the flats in my block. Reported it to 101 but it was too dark to see the number plate. This is getting silly now. I've reported it to the council but still haven't received a reply.

Had to get out of the way of one on the path between Dulwich Hamlets and Greendale the other day. They use all the paths around me - the one going from Green Dale to Blanchedowne as well. Thanks for the replies on this. Will update when I hear back from the council.

Carnage It's a CYCLE PATH. NOT a road. I'm not sure I can make it any clearer. And I haven't 'just moved in', I lived in East Dulwich for a number of years before moving to the top of Green Dale. You're coming across as a very bitter person indeed. Anyway, yes CCTV sounds like a good idea.

Yes, I do happen to live in one of the flats at the top of the cycle path, as if that should matter. I'd say about 5 motorbikes/scooters use the route per day, some of them going flat out. Just because people have always done it doesn't make it OK. I'm simply taking issue with something that is illegal, and poses a danger to people using the path. I can't quite comprehend how you would have a problem with that.

Exactly. It's a cycle path, not a road, and it's therefore illegal to drive motor vehicles down it. Some of these absolutely tear it down there, and it's not safe at all. Can't understand why Charles Notice could possibly condone this.

Are you saying that motorbikes should be allowed to go down cycle paths?
  11. I live at the northern end of the long Green Dale cycle path (which comes out at the junction of Townley Road and East Dulwich Grove), and the number of people on scooters or even small motorbikes driving down it is beyond a joke. It is particularly bad at night, but I have seen people do it even during the day, when it is frequently used by young children. It's extremely dangerous, and something really should be done to stop it. I've reported it to the Southwark Council Anti-Social Behaviour Team, but I wondered if there might be any other channels I could explore.

  14. Hello all, Just wanted to say thanks for all the replies - you've just confirmed my initial impressions of the area. Sounds really nice, and I'm really looking forward to living there.

Storage isn't too bad.

Thanks for the advice - starting to think my builder was just being a bit sensationalist.

Seemed fine to me. I checked your post history because your opinion didn't seem to tally with the rest of the posters in the thread, and I found that your posts tend to be fairly passive-aggressive and confrontational, and you tend to try and provoke a reaction for the sake of it. Hence why I'm more inclined to agree with others in this thread.

Never had any problems. OK, will probably just avoid the footpath at night then. Thanks again!

Thanks for the info! The Greendale footpath is right behind my flat... What sort of a bad reputation? Muggings?
  20. Hmm, just had a look at your post history. I think I'll wait for a second opinion, especially given that the posts above say it's absolutely fine.
  21. Hi everyone, I've had an offer accepted on a flat in the new development just north of the Greendale playing fields, on the corner of Greendale and Wanley Road. This is right in the middle of the estate, but when I looked round the area it seemed really quiet. My builder, on the other hand, who knows the area, said it's really dodgy round there. He is, however, the type for hyperbole, so I'm not that inclined to believe him. So I just wondered if people still think that estate around Champion Hill/big Sainsbury's is fine, or if it's a bit rough these days. Thanks!
  22. Wasn't able to find anyone at such short notice, but if anyone is available to clean tomorrow late morning, please let me know.
  23. Hi, my regular cleaner is unable to come in today, so I need someone to come in as soon as possible, preferably before 2pm. If you are able to do this, please get in touch.
  24. Thanks everyone for your recommendations. I've decided to go with HelBel65's suggestion of John Murphy - he gave a very reasonable quote.
