  1. Just an FYI this was stolen some time last night/this morning outside of Number 9, not a flash scooter probably taken for a joyride and or parts. Normally chained to the lamp post but the space was taken and was parked across the road instead. We have had many instances of petrol theft from it-so just a 'be aware' that opportunistic thieves are out and about on our road. It has been reported but if anyone happens to have seen/heard anything let us know-rego is DK07 KWJ. Cheers.
  2. I think its limiting to presume its an immediate neighbour; dog barking travels far in a quiet area, potentially it could be aggravating a wider group than realized. As an immediate neighbor however, the OP has been pro-active in addressing the issue and clearly doesn't want her animals to be distressed let alone be a nuisance. We raised a concern directly with her (not in the way of a threatening note) and can vouch for her commitment to work it out. Dog noise is frustrating to hear when its persistent but I'm sure most dog owners are oblivious to what their dogs do once they leave the house unless they are told and any decent dog owners will always want to remedy the problem as the OP has shown. You can get sound activated recorders/cameras to try to work out actual timings/triggers for why/when behavior is occurring to give a better idea of scale as opposed to when neighbours are home to notice it which won't always give the full picture. Anyone who believes poisoning an animal is a solution is obviously a moron. I hope the more balanced reactions shown here go some way in outweighing the feeling of threat left by the note.
  3. We are experiencing an issue with a blocked sewer on the odd number side of Belvour Rd. Both us and our nieghbours are affected with gurgling and waste water bubbling up through low outlets like baths etc. We both have a "man hole" in the back garden unpleasently full of waste etc. There is a main sewer running between Belvour and Melford towards Underhill Rd, so other properties may be affected. If you have the classic signs of a blocked drains (toilet water levels lower than usual, raising higher during a flush before going down, gurgling in other drains - e.g. in the bath as you flush/use other taps), you may want to contact Thames Water. The more people affected, hopefully the faster it will be fixed. This is a Thames Water's responsibilty (they are aware of this), since our drain connects to at least 1 neighbour before connecting on to a main sewer line - changes in 2011 put the responsibility for fixing on water companies for these situations. So far this has been ongoing for 5 days with no signs of a fix. The odd tanker is being sent out pump out to lower the levels a bit, so you may have seen these in the area. Unfortunately instead of everyday as promised, we've had about 2 in the 5 days. If you are affected please be active in keeping Thames water to task. Thames Water contact: 0845 920 0800 (Option 1, then 3)
  4. We are on Belvoir Road, has happened to our scooter about 5 times now; the only thing we can do to help it is secure the cover tightly looping the lock/chain thru the eyelets in the cover and firming it tight up against the bike, makes them work a little harder at least. Ild be interested in a communal garage option if there are enough of us and the location is right.
