  1. Would just like to add a recommendation for a good decorator i've used recently - Dee Hoof 07725 054551. She decorated an entire rental flat with no fuss, just got on with it all while i left her the keys. She called if there were any problems/ queries and always confirmed if there were an extras required and agreed a cost before carrying them out.
  2. Just wanted to say what a great job Wayne did on our windows inside and out, even with tricky windows above a glass roof extension. Wayne - 07886 990081
  3. JDAA, I'm an architect (ARB & RIBA qualified) working in East Dulwich. PM me if you would like a site visit, advice etc. Regards David
  4. A bit late for this thread but I'm an architect in East Dulwich and have just completed a side infill extension on my own house and on a clients house which are both the full length of the rear out-rigger at the back and against the party line of the neighbours property. The new permitted development rules help you if your neighbours don't raise an objection, if they do the council will probably ask for further details. The trick is to design the new party wall at a height that won't affect your neighbours enjoyment of their ground floor rear rooms. This is not a 'Right of Light' and has nothing to do with shadow, it is a measurement of 'Daylight'; basically the amount of daylight entering their rooms measured as a percentage. If there was an issue you would have to prove that the daylight entering their room hasn't dropped below a certain percentage which is a different amount depending on the use of the room. David
  5. Fergju I'm an architect living in East Dulwich and have just finshed a loft conversion and have other various projects on site locally. Would be happy to have a look at what you require and give you a quote for planning/ building regulations/ construction drawings. Generally even if you fall within permitted developement you should submit drawings to the council to obtain a Certificate of Lawful Development David
  6. Maybe a bit late for you Karen, but i'm an architect in East Dulwich and have just completed my own loft extension and about to start on site on the rear side extension. If you need an architect, or just some ideas then please shout i'd be more than happy to show you what we did. I also managed the work myself, i.e. planning, building control, party wall, tender and construction info and worked with plenty of good sub-contractors during the project. I may be little biased but would always recommend at least a consultation with an architect, it's the only way you'll get a truly one off extension that will add value and have a bit of wow factor when you come to sell up.
