The Mobile Recycling Centre will again be at Sainsbury's Dog Kennel Hill on Wed 1 Feb, between 10am and 1pm.
The Mobile Recycling Centre is a FREE service, funded by the London Waste and Recycling Board (LWARB), to make it easier for residents to recycle materials which cannot be collected as part of normal household recycling collections and accepts the following:
>Books
>Small electrical appliances
>Wood and timber
>Metal
>CDs/DVDs
>Clothes and shoes
>Printer cartridges
>Batteries
>Lightbulbs of any kind
Materials collected are brought to the Southwark Integrated Waste Management Facility before being sent onto charities and reprocessors to be reused or recycled.
The Mobile Recycling Centre also dispenses single-use garden waste sacks, clear recycling sacks and sells 'Pro Grow' soil conditioner plus subsidised compost bins and wormeries.
It DOES NOT accept general waste or standard household recycling (except cardboard)

Veolia Southwark are hosting a Christmas reuse workshop for all the family at the Southwark Integrated Waste Management Facility, 43 Devon Street, SE15 1AL (so not quite East Dulwich!) on Tuesday 20th December, 4-7pm and are inviting you and your family to join in on all the festivities and spread the Christmas spirit!

EnviroGrants are wholly funded by Veolia, not Southwark Council. The decision to end free bulky waste collections was a matter for Southwark Council.

The Southwark EnviroGrant scheme relaunches for its sixth year, offering community groups and schools the opportunity to be awarded up to ?1,000 for environmental projects that enrich the local area. Projects that help to reduce, reuse and recycle waste are particularly welcomed.
Established by Veolia, Southwark Council?s recycling and waste partner, the scheme has been designed to support communities with projects that benefit the local area. The voluntary assistance of Veolia employees can also be requested for any cleaning, building, painting, planting or other general tasks required in projects.
So far over ?17,000 has been awarded, benefiting 34 community projects in the borough. In 2015, projects included an environmental film screening (pictured), community gardening and composting, plastic bottle greenhouses, give and take days and more.

All textiles brought to the Mobile Recycling Centre are placed into the charity banks at the Southwark Reuse and Recycling Centre. Whatever the charities cannot then resell in their shops is separated out, shredded and recycled into other textile products such as cleaning cloths.
