  1. Highly recommended. Prompt, reliable, expert and friendly. Perfect plumber.
  2. Hi, I'm struggling to find a gas engineer to fit a flueless gas stove/heater. Could anyone recommend someone reliable please? Any assistance much appreciated. R.
  3. Hi everyone. Good news, Fred has been found! He is ravenous and reeks of damp, so we suspect he?s managed to be trapped somewhere again. Thank you very much to our neighbours and anyone else who has kept a watch out for him.
  4. Re-posted here as we're concerned our cat has disappeared at the time of these new killings.. Our cat Fred - a stalwart of Dovercourt and Townley Roads - has been missing since 2nd December. He hasn't paid his usual visits to our neighbours since then (he also appears on Woodwarde and Beauval Roads at times). Fred is a handsome chap - a brownish-greyish, stocky shorthair with yellow eyes. He's been missing once before, many years ago: then, he was found locked in a house that was under renovation. Could we please ask you to check any garages, sheds or lock-ups for him He has a heart condition and need regular trips to the Vet. We're worried about him, as to stay away for this long is completely out-of-character. Please call Jayne on 07799 064107 if you find him. Reward offered. Many thanks.

  7. We need a reliable gardener, for a general tidy-up and then re-planting and regular maintenance of a medium-sized garden. Good plantsperson essential. We have been mucked about a bit this year, so would welcome someone with sound garden knowledge, who is committed to taking on a regular job.
  8. Highly Recommended. Our fridge died this week in the heat, called Glen at 10, he was here at 1pm, fridge working by 1:30 ! Wife happy, beer getting cold again as we speak.
  9. I am searching for a French tutor - starting this week, someone to help my daughter through AS-level French, on a weekly basis after school/evenings. If you are able to help, please telephone me anytime. Richard 07501 190 238
  10. I second Mr Sandperson, DP caters for all sorts of riders, and their Sat/Sun rides are renowned social events. Racers will sometimes turn up in their 'strip', but usually just to be social, or for what is for them, a recovery ride. The all-out racers do ride at full-speed, but mostly on Tues/Thurs nights (heading out from Elmers End roundabout). There is an in-between level training ride on Weds nights. Aside from these five regular rides, there are lots of impromptu rides - usually posted up on the forum at http://www.dulwichparagon.com. If you post up an idea for a ride, there a good chance you find one or more to ride with. R.

They organise everything from 12mph social rides for everything through to 25mph race training. And I agree it's great to wear a Dulwich jersey, rather than someone else's advertising board. R.
  12. Great thread, it's forced me to write... I've cycled from somewhere near East Dulwich to the City or Canary Wharf pretty much every day for 15 years. Even though I've been knocked down twice (once outside Kings, and this year outside ED KwikFit), I wouldn't give it up for anything (well, almost anything). I also ride three lunchtimes a week, Wednesday nights with the local Dulwich Paragon club http://www.dulwichparagon.com, and Sunday mornings out to the North Downs. I race in the summer at the Tuesday night Crystal Palace Criteriums, and this year in the winter too at Hillingdon. I've also trained this year at the HH velodrome, some nights they allow 'normal' road racing bikes with gears and brakes on the track. In total, I manage just about 200miles a week, which is almost enough training for an old boy like to me to be a good beginner Cat4 racer. I commute on a no-comprises titanium racing bike, with two-pairs of Amaradillo tyres (no punctures ever). Did I mention I'm happiest when I riding? R. - ps. the unfolding story of my desperate attempts to race are documented here -> http://www.lbrc.org
