  1. I agree Mr.Liu's has great fried noodles, or they did when I ordered from them a year or so ago. One of my favorites, which hasn't been mentioned yet, is Cafe Noodle. In fact, I switched from Mr. Liu to Cafe Noodle and the latter is great. I've eaten a lot cf chinese food in my time and apart from one of my favorites in Canada, Cafe Noodle has the best chicken balls ever. The batter is really light and crispy and they never disappoint. The noodles aren't as good as Mr.Liu but the fried chicken balls make up for it.
  2. I'm really sorry to hear that. I think however the police are looking out for these men. My boyfriend was also mugged (though later, around 8 PM) at the gipsy hill stop on his way back to ED and was threatened though thankfully not beaten (this was about 6 months or so ago). He unfortunately had his laptop with him at the time and they stole it. When he reported it to the police they said they had several similar reports and were attempting to catch this man/men. Speedy recovery to your boyfriend

    bank charges

To get this back on topic...... I've had no success using templates trying to get money back before the test case started. Lloyds has taken in excess of 300 quid from me in bank charges and i wrote them twice and never got an offer of settlement. Because I live out of the country I've been slow in mailing my reply to them. I'm going to try it once more and than take it to court since um I want my money. I agree with the thought that it's down to poor money management on my behalf but on the other hand they should not be going into unauthorized overdraft....I find it odd that if I try and buy something and don't have the money for it, it'll go through anyway and I'll just be charged later. I'd rather just be denied at the time with 'insufficient funds'. Glad the post above got 90% of their money back though. Hopefully I'll be as lucky
  4. thanks!! I checked out sainsy's yesterday and they were sold out so will head off to the trusty DIY shop asap!
  5. Just a quick question in case anyone is around on the forum tonight and know's the answer.... does anyone know where to find last minute twinkly lights for the Christmas tree around East Dulwich? We plugged ours in today only to find out they quit working and now i fear most places are sold out (already checked sainsy's and a small local shop). any help would be appreciated!
  6. um....the immigration advice leaves something to be desired. If you are looking at coming to the UK, I suggest you go to a US - UK expat site where they will give you information on the immigration requirements. It is necessary to have a work visa before you come over if you have any intention on working here, and you must fill a gap within the market to get a work visa. They are not easy to get despite what papers may tell you. You will almost definately need a degree. If you come over on a work visa, it is not necessary to have a return ticket. If you come over on a regular 6 month visitor visa, you may seek employment and try and get someone to sponsor you but it is difficult and costly process and generally only larger corporations are willing to go through the hassle. A bar will not just hire you to work and then you get a NI number. That's not how it works. I would go as I said before to a UK-US expat site and see if you meet any of the requirements.
