  1. We have this one which we bought for our 2 year old son to use. I was a bit worried he would keeo touching it and turning it off but I turn it off and put it away if he messes around with it. A few times of that happening and he now just sits watching it rather than wanting to play with it

Was recommended to us because it has a 5 hour battery life - as opposed to others which have 3 hour (useless on a long flight!)

Not sure it has a lock on it.

  2. We use the Grobag Stay on bedding (but just bought a regular duvet and pillow -which we would need anyway. ie not the grobag duvet and pillow). It's working really well and useful if you want to go away and know there will be a single bed there for your little one.

We did also get a guard rail as got one set of grobag bedding and when that's in the wash, we use a regular single duvet cover but placed across the bed rather than lengthways. That way there is more to tuck in at the sides. Our son hasn't fallen out of bed yet.

  3. Who are you flying with? If BA they do a really good car seat type of seat that attaches to the wall (where a bassinet would have gone). We recently flew to SA with our 16 month old and I gave him his milk when we got on the flight and then gave him a dose of calpol before putting him in the seat. Sometimes when I just pat his tummy gently it helps him nod off (if he's in his buggy etc) so I did that and he went to sleep in his seat.

If not BA then I would still recommend a dose of calpol and try to get a spare seat beside you. If you don't seem to ahve one it's worth saying to the air stewardess (once you're seated) that if there are any seats at the back you'd like to move. Sometimes there are some empty seats right at the back so it's always worth trying that

  4. We did the NCT class in Nunhead a year and a half ago when I was pregnant with our son. It was really very good. I was very cynical beforehand and wasn't expecting great things at all but I was really surprised - I made some very good friends, some of whom I see a few times a week. It has really surprised me but it was excellent to have friends who have babies who are exactly the same age (in terms of weeks) so you can talk about the tiny things that your friends with older babies have now forgotten.

It was definitely worth it for me

  6. We hired the barn at the back of the garden at the herne tavern for exactly the same reason -joint birthday and christening. Was great - we set up one section of the room with toys and a big floor mat for the babies and the rest was for the adults. You also get three or four of the outdoor tables there too. Great venue, good food and excellent service. Would highly recommend.
  7. We used them too - for my engagement ring and we made our own wedding rings there too. They are excellent - no fancy showroom (which you are paying for in increased prices), just a workshop with excellent designers. We used Chris Randall (think that's his surname, off the top of my head). He was really good. We've also recommended a few people to go there and they've all been really happy with the service and quality.

    Would highly recommend.
